Unless there are no surveillance cameras; lesson learned in that case: better install a purveysive network of video cameras in all public places

There may be cameras that captured some of this, cameras in some locations make enough sense that they have been installed... for other reasons than simply looking for people dropping suitcases. But do you actually think that we can avoid all trouble if we can actually record and track everyone, every public place, all the time? Willing to sacrifice your own money to pay for such a a surveillance system everywhere?

Somebody needs to inform the police that there are a bunch of unclaimed suitcases in Scottsboro, Alabama. There may be a conspiracy here.

The FBI should dust the suitcases for prints. To see if there are identical unknown fingerprints on more than one of them. Of course, the success of this depends on whether they were wiped before being dropped, and how many people handled them. Most suitcases have some usable surfaces for taking prints.
