Small aircraft have transponsers which can (and usually are) monitored by air traffic control.
They also typically weigh in the neigborhood of 2000 to 5000 pounds, and carry 30 to 200 gallons of fuel.
So how does my Mooney equate to a 50,000 +/- pound tanker loaded with 8000 gallons of gasoline?
Till we reach over and turn them off. I am not doubting Julie's intent here... but I do hope we can limit the naive public's demand for such "cost-effective" solutions as making everyone else buy expensive electronics to track vehicles and film everyone's movements in public. GPS systems and transponders are easily disconnected. Was it still money well spent?
