WASHINGTON (AP) - House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner called on Jamie Gorelick to resign from the Sept. 11 commission Wednesday, citing a memo she wrote as a deputy attorney general on separating counterintelligence from criminal investigations. "Scrutiny of this policy lies at the heart of the commission's work," said Sensenbrenner, R-Wis. "Ms. Gorelick has an inherent conflict of interest as the author of this memo and as a government official at the center of the events in questions."
On Tuesday, Attorney General John Ashcroft released the declassified 1995 memo from Gorelick containing instructions that "more clearly separate" counterintelligence from criminal investigations. He said the "wall" between counterintelligence and criminal investigations was a key impediment to terrorism probes before the Sept. 11 attacks.
The Landmark Legal Foundation, a conservative law firm, also has called on Gorelick to step down, citing the memo.
A phone message left with the Sept. 11 commission was not immediately returned Wednesday.

When I saw the headline, I read Sensenbrenner as Steinbrenner. I heard this voice yelling, "Big Stein wants a calzone and Gorelick should resign!"

Dear 9/11 Commission:
In lieu of the declassified memo presented by John Ashcroft yesterday, I would like to see Jamie Gorelick resign from the Sept. 11 commission IMMEDIATELY.
The memo she wrote as a deputy attorney general on separating counterintelligence from criminal investigations and the commission's scrutiny of this policy lies at the heart of the commission's work.
Ms. Gorelick has an inherent conflict of interest as the author of this memo and as a government official at the center of the events in questions.
Regards,

Last night when that dolt reporter ask Pres. Bush if he would appologize to the victims of 9ll Yeah, some idiot on Fox News this morning was giving the tired spiel, "it's the media's responsibility to inform the people, blah, blah". I wanted to throw something at the screen at him. I DON'T WANT TO KNOW EVERY MOVE THE POWERS THAT BE OF OUR COUNTRY MAKES, especially concerning our national security. Because guess what folks, if we're seeing it, so is every terrorist in the world. Morons.

The Gorelick rules were meant to ensure that "no 'proactive' investigative efforts or technical coverages" of terrorist suspects be carried out on U.S. soil. The Murrah Bldg in OK city was blown up on April 19, 1995.
Exactly what date in 1995 was that Gorelick memo published?
Question #1: Exactly what date in 1995 was the Gorelick Memorandum published?
Clinton did credit the OKC bombing as being the turning - for the better - of his presidency because it united people behind him (and the copresident]!

I Just sent this to Chairman Kean:
Dear Chairman Kean,
Due to both Ms. Gorelick's inherent conflict of interest in having penned the 1995 memo which contributed greatly to the disaster visited upon America on 9/11/01, and due to the partisan deceit displayed by her apparent refusal to make known to the 9/11 Commission her obvious conflict herewith, I demand that Ms. Gorelick be not only excused from her position on the Commission, but that she also be questioned under oath by the Commission immediately thereafter.
The mere appearance of such a conflict of interest will cripple..., no, make that kill, the Commission's credibility and effectiveness as an impartial and non-partisan arbiter of events leading up to September 11, 2001. For all this expenses of time, money, and American blood to not have been poured out in vain, it is imperative that the Commission act swiftly and decisively to restore its credibility, and at least an impression of even-handedness.
Due to his dishonesty on the radio with a North Dakota radio show host, wherein Bob Kerrey claimed to have no prior knowledge of former President Clinton's assertion that he was offered Usama Bin Laden by Somalia, and passed up on the offer, Mr. Kerrey has also shown himself to be no more than a partisan shill with an agenda.
It is now public knowledge that the tape of Clinton admitting to this was provided to the Commission long before Mr. Kerrey feigned his lack of awareness of the matter.
Either Mr. Kerrey lied on the air about his prior knowledge of this statement by Clinton, or he failed to review key evidence submitted to the Commission for review.
Neither is acceptable.
Last, Mr. Kerrey, like Ms. Gorelick, served as a Democrat under Bill Clinton, and is thus incapable of rendering an impartial opinion on the 9/11 disaster which they contributed to during the Clinton Administration.
Clean up this mess, Mr. Chairman, or allow your commission to become a meaningless, partisan witch hunt which history will surely record as such.
Sincerely,
etc.

We're asking for a Democrat to resign. Who are we kidding? In Wisconsin, out Democrat state attorney general was arrested for drinking and driving after she pulled off the road in her state-owned vehicle that she was using for a personal purpose. She apologized. End of story, at least for the media.

I'd like to know who inserted Gorelick on the commission, in the first place??
(A rhetorical question... We all know who did this and why...)
Ironically, her placement on the commission is another example of their rube arrogance rooted in stupidity... Rather than serving to revise the clintons' noxious legacy of corruption and utter failure, the gorelick presence simply underscores it...

Called my Georgia Senators. Might as well talked to a pile of rocks.
I actually got treated better by my Democratic Senator Zell Miller's office. They at least told me they would pass the call along.
Senator Saxby Chambliss's office said they were not planning on doing anything. I then asked them why I bothered electing a Republican Senator. Silence.

Dems MO.
They are the surrogate father/husband figures. Look who Dem voters are - broken folks looking for someone to rescue them from themselves and find them blameless.
I remember when Gray Davis jumped on a press conference when they found Laci Peterson's body. The county had scheduled it, and Davis was right there trumping it to announce it to the state. I was flabbergasted.
He never quite got it out, as his press conference was killed so the county could do its job. The ego.....
