Someone posted on another thread yesterday that Gorelick was at the WH with a prepared statement - for the press - in case OJ got convicted! The President to assuage black Americans and was quite concerned that OJ would be convicted!

They are the surrogate father/husband figures. Look who Dem voters are - broken folks looking for someone to rescue them from themselves and find them blameless.
I remember when Gray Davis jumped on a press conference when they found Laci Peterson's body. The county had scheduled it, and Davis was right there trumping it to announce it to the state. I was flabbergasted.
He never quite got it out, as his press conference was killed so the county could do its job. The ego.....
