Jesse Peterson just spoke in the auditorium. Zell Miller signing books this morning. Looking forward to Online Activism session later, in which a freeper, Robert A. Hahn, will take part, and immediately afterward Ann Coulter will speak.
To: All
I was just told that Ann is sick and won't be attending, but the good news is that Phyllis Schlafly will be interviewed on Radio FR. Not sure what time . . .

Second day at the show
Outstanding speech by Wayne LaPierre of the NRA. He made me realize what a debacle the McCain-Feingold legislation was and the Wellstone admendment was against free speech and the importance of doing something about it. The hall was packed with lots of spontaneous standing ovations, clapping, yelling, etc. The media box had some reporters looking mighty pursed lipped with all the racket in support of the NRA. LaPierre was very motivational - he got me off my you-know-what to finally join up.
Also had a panel presentation on Liberal Hollywood with Rev. Jesse Petersen as one of the participants. He too got a lot of clapping, standing ovations, etc. and I don't think that many people knew about him like a lot of us freepers do. He was a very good speaker and said a lot of good things - like "I am an American, not an African-American". That got a huge, standing ovation response.
Very good vibe here - it is a treat being around so many up and coming conservatives - these kids are sharp, happy and tired of being quiet. Hope they are getting good and motiviated by the excellent speakers.

BUMP Howdy back at 'cha! Victim of Circumstance and I were being greatly entertained by Warrior Nurse' imitation of Jesse Jackson... He has it down perfectly. LOL People were peeking out from booths and curtains to see if Clinton's "spiritual advisor" was actually in the building ;)

Dang--just missed Warrior Nurse's stand up act. Although, I have to admit it was pretty funny listening to Libertina and VOC re-enact the event.
WN, will there be an encore performance this afternoon? Now I need to find the kind and gracious student who loaned me her coat for the frigid trek to the National Art Gallery.

Hey Gal, Been listening to the web stream. Who was the freeper that gave the fabulous speech...think he was on a panel, and may have been from the D.C. Chapter. He did a wonderful job. (think it was around 4:00 PM EST panel)

*** Breaking at CPAC *** ( / Drudge...)
Credible rumor here has it that a staffer involved in the release of the Senate Judiciary Committee memos implicating the Committee Democrats in fixing court cases will be fired shortly. The whistleblower involved broke no laws, committed no ethics violations and exposed genuine wrongdoing on the part of the Democrats, but Republican Powers That Be in the Senate find his dismissal politically convenient...
Cynics here find this to be typical: Dems commit an egregious violation, some gutsy Republican staffer exposes it, the media gets outraged over the exposer rather than the violation, and the Republican leadership pitches somebody down the air shaft to placate their howling opposition.
It's worth noting that whistleblower laws don't protect Congressional staffers. How conveeeenient.

Probably Nick Danger. He is from the FRN. I asked the panel a "question." I told the room full of about 700 people (maybe more) that the ANSWER crowd was coming back to DC March 20. It is great to see a room full of folks at CPAC, but we really didn't need fannies in the seats. We need fannies in the streets.
Yes, I actually said that.
