Perhaps. But Jim, I know you understand the bitterness and betrayal I feel, just as you feel towards the Dems. I take no joy in it, believe me. Going third is a sad alternative. They give me no choice. I voted straight Republican last time...I gave them money, I worked for the campaign. I was wrong. They persist in taking my vote for granted and I just won't allow that anymore. If we don't hold their feet to the fire, we deserve what we get. The Politicians have to understand that they will be held accountable. If not, there is little point in voting at all because we'll get more of the same.

No, you and the rest of us, will get far WORSE, should enough sillies, such as yourself, refuse to see the forest for the trees, cut off your collective noses to spite your collective faces, and a Dem is elected president in '04. But then, perhaps YOU enjoyed the Clinton presidency.

You fail to understand, these pure of heart, death before reality martyrs love to wallow in their masochistic , obliquely arrived at 'I told you sos" They really do not want to win, and try to progress, nor realize that taking back the Nation's emotional health is incremental. No, much better to stamp their righteous feet, curse the light and live for the darkness.

No, I understand only too well. I've been here almost 6 years, including my lurking days, and have seen a steady increase in the ranks of the politically naive/ UNAPPEASEABLES. :-(
These people are only happy, really HAPPY , when everyone else here are miserable too. They don't even have a tenuous grasp of reality, politics, nor history. They imagine that, like a spoiled three year old, whatever they want, they should be handed immediately, or else they're going to stamp their wee feet and threaten to hold their breaths until they turn blue.
Incrementalism is what got us to this point and it's the ONLY thing that'll get us out of the messes. You are exactly right. :-)

Hi, my friend!
Old EW doesn't have the faintest idea, how to hold anyone's feet to the fire; he/she just enjoys blowing smoke...in between posting little temper tanturms to FR. LOL

Great name. Why, thank you. I like ironies :-) Even have a Halloween costume with a large "S" emblazoned on it.

"Well, what do you propose?"Not fair.

Ronald Reagan did not get *one single Great Society program* abolished, much less any useless Departments. Was that because (A) he didn't want to, or (B) he knew the voters weren't there to accomplish it. ???

The best third option is Michael Peroutka, who is currently seeking the Constitution Party nomination. His
interview with Jan Mickelson is a great introduction to his view on government.

Clinton, for all his sleeze was to the Right of GWB. How sad is that? That statement alone puts your judgment and patriotism in doubt.

I was wrong. They persist in taking my vote for granted and I just won't allow that anymore. If we don't hold their feet to the fire, we deserve what we get.Focus on the first person. You are the one with the problem. You are the one who stated publicly that William Jefferson and Hillary Rodham Clinton (and yes they are a tag team) are "more to the right" than George W. Bush. How can you expect anyone except BushHaters to take you seriously ?
You were wrong. You are still wrong. President Bush is better than any Democrat alternative and that is the only alternative. Some people just didn't learn their lesson from Ross Perot ...

But if Dean runs, I'll vote third party and feel very good about it. Hours after news broke of Saddam Hussein's capture, Democratic presidential hopeful Joseph Lieberman slammed his party's front-runner Howard Dean as a defacto ally of the Iraqi dictator because of his long term opposition to the war.
"If Howard Dean had his way, Saddam Hussein would be in power today, not in prison, Lieberman told NBC's "Meet the Press."
To: ETERNAL WARMING
Howard will not be the candidate this time.
There is not much we can do at the Presidential level for 04, but if we all get behind the Constitution Party starting now we can be ready by 08. The goal for 04 is to get candidates on the ballot that can win district races. In many of those districts, a good candidate will be personally known to enough people that the quality of the candidate trumps party label. If you have known Joe Smith for 20 years and he is a good man, does it matter to you whether he is GOP or CP?
Perhaps by 2008 W will have destroyed the Democratic Party by taking the GOP left, leaving room for a true conservative party.

The key is to change public opinion ...
Here in the United states we have a representative republic. We can change the way our government rules with votes. Until we convert a majority of voters to our views, we will only fail. Very correct and astute observation. Leaders help change public opinion but the battle is on many fronts. Being a good parent, neighbor, employer/employee, etc. There are so many facets to taking this country back. We must never surrender.

Republican-controlled Supreme CourtWith a statement such as this, you've removed all doubt I
ever have had about your sanity.
So farewell to you, never to enter any of my responses' or
worry.

Thank you, and you are exactly right. The Republican Party at this time is the only hope there is for the adults to stay in charge.

MARVELOUS COMMENT!!!

For once I can agree with you without reservation! Good post. Thanks.
