"Horse hocky. I'll take Bush and some Republican court picks in a heart beat over any Democrat and the God-hating, America-hating, abortion-loving, homosexual-agenda-loving, gun-grabbing, freedom-robbing, sovereignty surrendering liberal activist judges the Democrats will appoint."
Me too. You gotta start in the center in order to move the country left or right. I think we can afford to give Bush the benefit of the doubt here and 4 more years to fix the less conservative points in the legislation. I'd prefer a little more conservatism from the current leadership but it's more acceptable to me than stalinism.
The trend is looking awefully good for conservatives so far to gain more seats in the house and senate. If we pick up more power he will have a mandate to be able to revamp these Bills and I think he wants to.

Makes me wonder about the fact that the same words are used on both sites -- not very smart if you ask me because it highlights their agenda. Dean folks are everywhere spreading his LIES!!!!!

They were reporting O'Connor was going to retire when Bush became President but then Jeffords crossed the aisle and we all know what happened after that.
Torie -- what happens if O'Connor steps down and there is no replacement for her? If the SCOTUS ends in a 4-4 vote what happens?

Someone linked me to the DU and lo and behold, some of the same comments are being written over there, and almost word for word. Shocking, ain't it?Actually, I find it informative that both the left and the right find this law and todays ruling distasteful. If you think this is the end of limits on speech wait and see what a democrat Congress and these 5 lunatics on the SCOTUS can dream up.
This decision will never contract back to the original meaning of the First Amendment, it will only expand and further distort the application of the 1A to political speech.
Walsh's Law.
To: NormsRevenge
"Anyone willing to allow Dean or Hillary or Kuccinich or any of the other commie loving Democrats into office IS surrendering to the left." Truth be known, I wanted to use a stronger expletive in that sentence, like "commie loving bastard" or such, but couldn't think of a lower, dirtier, filthier, nastier name than "Democrat!"

A tie vote means the lower court decision stands, and the SCOTUS decision has no force and effect or precedential effect. In such a court, over time, if evenly divided, the various appellate districts and the laws that govern them would Balkanize. That sucks too. It would be rather interesting if CFR were legal in some districts and not others! Think about that one.
The beauty of the CFR is that in time it will collapse of its own weight. In time, maybe after my lifetime but perhaps not, the Torie plan will be adopted in some form. That is my prediction.

I have the solution. WITHHOLD ALL DONATIONS TO THE RNC and local Republican committees, and SWITCH voting registration to INDEPENDENT.
Return their pathetic, desperate pleas for money back empty. With a note explaining that they will cease to collect ONE RED CENT until they defend the Constitution, and fight the liberal assult on our borders, language, and culture. I know it sounds a like Michael Savage monologue, but dammit, he is RIGHT!!!
Donate money to the two or three REAL Conservative candidates in Congress like Tom Tancredo or those that stood up for Colonel David West. Maybe help the black Republican candidates running--who seem to be REAL Conservatives.
KEEP the money you would normally give to Our Lord and Savior, our Alpha and Omega, Our New World Presidente, Jesus W. Bush.
Instead, GIVE the money to Jesse Lee Peterson's B.O.N.D., Landmark Legal Foundation, the Boy Scouts, the NRA, Campus Watch, F.I.R.E, Renew America, etc.
You can still vote for any "pansy-assed," "PC," "Democrat-posing-as-a-Republican," "Islam is a peaceful religion," "let's legalize EVERY illegal invader" candidate you desire, because you are going to vote for them any way. just don't give them any more money.
Maybe they will collectively shit in their pants-with- whales-on-them when they fail to get any money from their peon, joe schmoe enablers. Maybe they won't. It's worth a try. It's our country. At least for the time being.
Maybe we DON'T wish to keep our republic, Mr. Franklin!!!

O'Connor hinted once that she was thinking of retiring...after this last hurrah, I think she'd better be thinking about it soon. I've read that Ginsburg has cancer. Any news about her condition? Her condition must be getting worse. There are plenty of Ginsburg/cancer hists on google.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg +cancer
I do wish she would take some time off to get better.
To: AppauledAtAppeasementConservat
Exactly.. start in the center and move a bit to the left or to the right... Bush cannot go after independents on which this election depends on by implementing a "radical right-wing" strategy. This is already being trumpted by the alphabet nets, PBS and most journalists who are pro Democrat and automatically pro dim nominee...
He has to play a fine line and unfortunately has to deal with the cards he is played, otherwise he is made to look like a rabid conservative which he is already made to look like now if you look at the debates. And a majority of the people are not Freepers who read inbetween the lines and know the issues...
To: jwalsh07
They're steaming. Someone must have told them it hurts them more. No high fives for either side in this disgusting decision.

They were sealed, actually. At least many of them were as pursuant to Texas Law. Then Bush took ALL of the documents to his fathers Presidential Library and had them sealed there. Only when the Texas AG required him to return the documents to the state of Texas, did he do so....and that's when the state made the determination on what documents of his would be sealed or not.

To: Mo1
Sadly, my cable company doesn't carry Fox News, but I'm open to watching all of these talk shows with the pundits as well as ones about Bush. I certainly don't like liars.
Thanks for the heads up though.
To: Luis Gonzalez
What does that mean exactly? It means that the medicare bill increased the size of the government.
