THE NUTS HATE BUSH BUT WE LUVYA DUBYA: Beverly Hills AfterFreep Report!
Dec. 2, 2003

Posted on 12/02/2003 8:45:26 PM PST by Cinnamon Girl

While the nuts were gathering in the Beverly Hilton for their childish "Hate Bush" meeting, the America-loving, President Bush-loving folks from all around were joining up with signs and cheers on Wilshire Boulevard, across the street from the hotel.

And it wasn't just us Freepers-- the very good looking College Republicans from Loyola Marymount, Ted Hayes, and other happy people who heard about the rally from all the talk shows today (thanks talk show hosts!) were out there with us. Signs were upbeat: "Luvya Dubya", "L.A. Loves W.", "Real Men Love G.W." (that was Outraged, who was dressed in his superman costume), "President Bush is My Hero", and of course there were lots of American Flags.

As RonDog waved with his big Mickey Mouse hand and we waved our signs chanting "President Bush!" and "Five More Years!" TONS of cars passed us, many of them HONKING THEIR HORNS in support-- much more than I had expected, actually. I keep wanting to believe that more and more people are rejecting the liberal trash in LA; my experience at rallies over the years suggests to me that there is a changing tide. Yes, we got a lot of middle fingers-- one of the most common forms of expression from liberals-- but on the BIRD-OMETER, with the rally in front NBC studios during the Al Gore hissy fit being a 10, this ranked a 4. At that rally we got a lot of screaming curse words as well, but at this one, the anger was actually WAY, WAY toned down with a few "He's an idiot" comments and 'thumbs down' but the RAGE wasn't there.

Lots of media showed up: KTLA 5, CBS 2, channels 9 and 11 as well, plus a CBS from Sacramento.

The energy was really good, and, although the Hate Bush attendees came in through the backway from the parking garage and avoided us, there were a few loitering in the lobby who could see us, and well, if they watch the news tonight, I guess they'll get an earful.

Look for pictures from Freeper "rantblogger."

P.S. I saw two people give us the finger with one hand, while holding their phones in the other-- while DRIVING.

Your post is cranky.

No, his post is silly. But I'm sure he was cranky when he wrote it, so close enough, CG.

Please cut back on the "I can't believe any Jews were at this hate Bush thingy" comments. Proportionally, there were actually probably more Jews represented at the Luvya Dubya rally than were at the Hilton hate meeting. It is bizarre and ignorant that ANY Americans were at that stupid meeting to hate the president.

From Jewish World Review offered here as a cortesy and as an assist to those lacking the "class," [Refinement?] honesty and self-confidence to age gracefuly -- and to therefore not require any kind of hair dye:

<< DEAR DR. GOTT: How does a person age gracefully and successfully? Any guidelines?

DEAR READER: This is a very real and important challenge that has been addressed in several publications, most of which offer suggestions about how the elderly can look younger than they really are. In my opinion, trying to cover up the consequences of the aging process is a useless and unnecessary waste of time and money. Growing old gracefully is an attitude of acceptance, compromise and perspective. It is also a function of class, honesty and self-confidence. My advice is: be proud to look your age, give in but don't give up, carefully pick your role model. And, of course, aggressively treat any health problems. >>

Shalom -- Brian

Good report. COngrats to you all for a freep well done!

I saw two people give us the finger with one hand, while holding their phones in the other-- while DRIVING.

They must've been visiting from Boston, where that is not only commonplace, but taught in Driver's Ed.

Amen to that, Brian. My Grammy looked adorable in her 90's and certainly never did any of that phony plastic stuff. I see middle aged and elderly women every day around Beverly Hills who look so ridiculous with the overstretched faces, heavy makeup and mini skirts, trying to look like they're in their 20's. It's sad. What's wrong with being a Grandma and looking like one?

As to the "wishing Bush dead" issue, I can let you know for sure it's going on. While editing the weekly Useful Idiot Caption-A-Rama, I've seen "Bomb the White House," "Wanted: Dead or alive" posters with Dubya on them and (perhaps the most charming!) numerous references to choking to death on a pretzel. The alert email for one recent large-scale leftist event specifically invited people to show up with pretzel dress and signage. And don't forget "Snipers Wanted." These are only a few examples, and examples of threats or wished harm only; if we went into comparisons to Hitler, allusions to world domination, etc, we'd be here all day.

Now, what are the chances that a group that went so far as to call their event "Hate Bush" would refrain from those same sentiments, much less condemn them as wrong? I'd say about zero. And even if they mean no ill will toward him, why shouldn't we counter them? They say he sucks, we say he doesn't. If they held a meeting to say the Medicare bill was good and we held a counter-protest to say it was bad, would you still figure we were wasting our time? If not, what's the difference?

Oh, BTW, can you name any event convened by powerful conservatives in during the Toon's presidency that were called "Hate Clinton" or anything remotely similar? Those who hated the Toon did so for things he did, those who hate Dubya hate him for what kind of man he is. That's a big enough difference right there.

Seinfeld was so.....Clinton-era.

Yep. When it comes to the things that make or keep a nation great, the Clinton Administration was all about nothing.

Heard some liberal man on Fox this morn. (forget his name) saying that Drudge caused more liberals to show up than they could have ever imagined, blah blah blah he said, he went on and on. I didn't buy one word of his ranting! Sounded kinda whiney to me!

Rush is saying that the HATE BUSH bash wasn't so much about acutally hating Bush, but more about advancing the idea of a Hillary run for president in 2004... YIKES~

Can you say President Hillary? Me Neither!!!!
