Am I reading this right -- the fire went up the Mountain headed for Arrowhead and other towns on Rim of the World and is also moving east along the north edge of SB and is now in the Highland area?

We used to drive Greenspot road as the back way into Norton AFB when it was still Norton.

Can you believe it. They don't want to pay part of their own health care benefits, meanwhile, thousands are displaced and have lost everything they own.

I find it totally unbelievable that those braindead women would even consider picketing with peoples' homes burning down around them.

It shows their true colors, for sure.

"7:15PM - PER RP SHE SAW PERSON START FIRE"

Oh man, I'm with the crowd that says arsonists should be shot on sight. Or bound, gagged and tossed into a hotspot.

Hopefully, it won't all burn down there because of the fire (and the person who started it...hope he gets thrown into the fire).

The east coast bias in the media is absolutely stunning. NBC is doing better than ABC and CBS, I think that is partly due to the fact that Tom Brokaw was a Los Angeles anchor first before he went national.

They really think of California as Hollywood, and not much else. We have deserts, mountains, forests, farms, more conservatives than the populations of the majority of states.

We are also the 5th or 6th largest economy in the world. The nation's grocer. Ignoring California is spiting the country. Close to 1/6th of all tax revenue in this country is produced in California. If we fall, everybody else will fall as well.

are those homes burnt in the past few hours?

They were in danger last night, so I don't know how recent the threat was or anything. The people I know got out and that's all I know.

I know people very near the Monarch Ridge development that I heard was hit. Anyone have any news on which parts of El Cajon were hit, and if, in fact, homes in Monarch Ridge were hit?

I just got off the phone with my sister. She is back at home in the Cottonwood estates area. Her house is fine. The Monarch Ridge area is also fine. She is keeping the car packed in cast the Otay fire makes it close enough for another evacuation.

Deplorable what T. V. has done to the compassion of humanity.

It is appalling. And disgusting.

"I live on the east coast and share your unhappiness with the relative lack of coverage of these fires.

I wonder if the networks think that the rest of the country is in a sort of California burnout between wall to wall coverage of the recall and the Kobe Bryant trial?????

Whatever the reason, the minimal coverage of these horrendous fires is inexcusable."

Ok, I am just playing the Devils advocate here.
Just a stray thought.
IF these fires are part of a terrorist agenda....what is their purpose, aside from hitting us where it hurts... in the pocket book? Their agenda would be to get alot of press...cause panic...fear.
I am just speculating here.... perhaps by denying them press coverage, could we be denying them what they want most ??
I am in the mid west, and the only people I have spoken with , who do NOT know what is going on in California are the people who do not know, or care, what is happening in their own back yards. Most are Very concerned and do not need CNN /Fox ect. to lead us to relevant news.

Just throwing in a thought about psycholocical warfare.
