"I live on the east coast and share your unhappiness with the relative lack of coverage of these fires.
I wonder if the networks think that the rest of the country is in a sort of California burnout between wall to wall coverage of the recall and the Kobe Bryant trial?????
Whatever the reason, the minimal coverage of these horrendous fires is inexcusable."
Ok, I am just playing the Devils advocate here.
Just a stray thought.
IF these fires are part of a terrorist agenda....what is their purpose, aside from hitting us where it hurts... in the pocket book? Their agenda would be to get alot of press...cause panic...fear.
I am just speculating here.... perhaps by denying them press coverage, could we be denying them what they want most ??
I am in the mid west, and the only people I have spoken with , who do NOT know what is going on in California are the people who do not know, or care, what is happening in their own back yards. Most are Very concerned and do not need CNN /Fox ect. to lead us to relevant news.
Just throwing in a thought about psycholocical warfare.

I see where you are going - but I disagree.
Most of the media would be all over themselves in the coverage if your speculation were true.
That's my devil's advocacy take on it.
