Posted on 10/19/2003 10:49:34 PM PDT by dandelion

Freepers, we need your help NOW! This is coming to you from Terri's family, live from the vigil site.

Jeb Bush has called an emergency special session and they will take it up 8:05am eastern time.IF the measure passes, Terri's execution will be stayed and feeding/hydration will resume immediately. She will be SAVED if this bill passes.

We need you ALL to call the Florida Legislative Branch - House and Senate. They can be found at

http://www.floridasoundoff.com/browse/pol_contact.htm

All contact numbers and emails can be found at this url.

Terri is still alive and she's starting to really feel the effects of dehydration. Her skin is starting to crack, and she is in pain - but TERRI IS FIGHTING TO LIVE. This is NOT over. By the Grace of God, she is still alive. If Terri is willing to fight, we have an obligation to fight along side her. No matter where you are tonight, or where you are registered to vote, we need you to call these Florida Legislators NOW.

Emailed saying folks are watching from Arizona. I hope "Terri's Bill" isn't a rumor as mentioned on another thread.

We had to shut this tool down. (post 35) The server simply couldn't handle the load of all those emailing in support of Terri. Don't forget to pray hard.

Note: Over 200 people used this script over the last 4 hours, from the time I posted on Freerepublic.com and raptureready.com that it was available. 90% of these coming in the last 30 minutes, building to a fevered pitch over the last few minutes which was absolutely incredible.

As a sys admin, I've never seen a server load average of over 100 before tonight (a typical load average is 1 to 5). I wish desperately that I could keep the tool up, but the traffic has disrupted our entire network.

What an encouragement, though, that as Americans, even in these very weird and callous times, we are not willing to allow an innocent life to be terminated. Our forefathers would be proud of what's happening here, and you've renewed my faith. tonight, that their spirit lives on.

Larry

I was wondering about Alan Keyes. He is always talking about the sanctity of life. Does anyone know his email?

I'd like to see him take up this cause.

This is so sick. How can the state put this woman and her family through such a terrible death.

You're right we need to single this guy out. If he succeeds in blocking the bill, we need to find out when he is up for reelection and see if we can't take up a Freeper collection to run an ad with Terri's story in it opposing his re-election.

From the front page of the Ocala (FL) Star Banner:

Lawmakers to address biotech deal Gov. Bush to answer questions as special session begins today.

Published October 20. 2003 8:30AM

BY BRENDAN FARRINGTON
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

TALLAHASSEE - Gov. Jeb Bush, for once, isn't hearing criticism for calling a special session.

But he is still hearing questions. A lot of questions.

Bush wants lawmakers to approve a $310 million incentive package to lure Scripps Research Institute to Palm Beach County with the hope that its success in the San Diego area will be duplicated in Florida.

While Democrats and Republicans agree bringing Scripps to Florida would be a huge score, some in both parties want assurances the state will reap the benefits being touted by the governor and biotechnology giant.

The House and Senate will come together in a rare joint meeting Monday to get their questions answered as they begin a special session to attempt to seal the deal.

"This is a tremendous coup," said Senate President Jim King. "As far as Florida's concerned, this is a great moment in its history. But you always, as a businessman, want to consider the worst along with reveling in the best."

No mention of Terri. :-(

You guys are all awesome. I know there is not a lot a little Texas girl can do, but by darned I am trying. This is a travisty. I wrote the following letter and also only got a few bounce backs.
May God Bless each and every one of you and continue to hold Terri in his precious arms.

To Whom it May Concern;

It has just come to my attention that a new bill, "Terris Bill" is being presented to you today.
Please search your soul and make the right decision on this. It is not mans right to play GOD and terminate an innocent persons life. Especially in the manner that it is being performed, death by Starvation and dehydration, WOW, what cruelty. I am still totally beside myself on this issue. I am affraid that if you tried something like that in Texas we would consider it a Hanging Offense and mark that in OUR lawbooks. But the reprecutions of your decision is all yours.

Thank you for your time and Please, DO THE RIGHT THING. Pass Terri's Bill!!!!

God Bless you and yours and GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!

Mark R. and Lisa T. Willis

>>>>Thanks for the info, this may be the problem that pollywog is having. Everyone I know is using Outlook or Outlook Express and it works fine with those programs. Leave it Microsoft to be different.

>>>Do you know if using comma's will work in Outlook?

Works fine in Pegasus Mail Client too.

CAN I SHOUT?????
Just got off the phone with King's Jacksonville office. The lady told me the special session was called to address budget issues and that Byrd may introduce Terri's Bill but that it will have no effect on Terri's situation...the Gov has no constitutional authority to intervene. I asked her if she had read the briefs herself---no. I gave her Terri's site and asked her to please read them herself. Told her noone who reads them believes the Gov can't do something.
She did say that if he can include the Bill he would.
I told her I would not vote for him again if he didn't!

CORRECT PHONE # FOR JIM KING IS 850-487-5229
