All told, the Republican presidential field might end up almost as large and divided as the one in 2016. Which is to say that the 2024 Republican primary is, at this stage, shaping up to be a retread of the one that catapulted Trump to the commanding heights of the American political system.
Once again, it is clear that many Republican elites would prefer to have someone other than Trump at the top of the ticket. But once again, those elites — donors, intellectuals, activists — are having a hard time finding a single alternative candidate to challenge the former president. DeSantis was supposed to play that part, but he has struggled to gain a foothold with Republican voters and has shown a tin ear for the challenges of national politics. As of Friday, he is far behind Trump in nearly every major poll of the national Republican primary electorate.
If DeSantis continues to recede, other candidates will try to claim his spot as the party’s main alternative to Trump. And therein lies the problem. As long as there are multiple candidates vying for this position, Trump has the political space he needs to consolidate his support, which is still much greater than his rivals’.

More than just publicity, they are looking for campaign cash which they can channel into their pockets.
Election fraud was present when I was a 20 year old student in engineering college. I witnessed victory stolen from Nixon with voter fraud in Chicago & Cook county in Illinois. That was circa 1960.
Election fraud is part and parcel of our election process. We can do only one thing. Beat the margin of fraud by huge turnout.
Trump is a coward...he should welcome competition, and the robust debate that should come with it.

No.there. isnt. You still don’t get that you’re watching a movie. We are in COG thanks to Trump. The military has cleared out the entire government sector of DC. Its just a bunch of abandoned buildings with a few tourists wandering around. No police presence to speak of and no govt workers. The US Corporation has been dissolved and the Biden bunch are being allowed to act out in an empty city. They are in charge of a defunct corporation.
Trump doesn’t say things just for grins. He’s been telling you over and over about paper ballots, voter ID and same day voting. He’s telling you what the 2024 election is going to be like.

Many of these people are coming from Socialist countries...with the memory of the disaster THAT GOVERNMENT is...are we so sure that they will want another Venezuela, El Salvador, et al????

Please post your evidence to prove the accusation; otherwise you come off appearing as someone who would practice character assassination to score a win for your side. We are all supposed to be conservatives here where debate of the issues is welcomed and encouraged. Destruction of your opponent to score a cheap point is just plain evil.
