Democratic vice-presidential nominee Sen. Tim Kaine (D., Va.) said Thursday that youve got to respect San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernicks decision to sit down during the national anthem as a sign of protest of Americas treatment of minorities, adding he would do it differently if it were him.
At Thursday nights game against the San Diego Chargers, which will feature a Salute to the Military event, Kaepernick is expected to sit again during the national anthem. Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos asked Kaine about it during the latters run of media appearances Thursday morning.
Youre the father of a Marine. Whats your reaction to Colin Kaepernick? Stephanopoulos asked.
You know, youve got to respect peoples ability to act according to their conscience, Kaine said. I mean, Id do it differently. I think if you really thought about issues and this country, youd do it differently, and when I heard him explain his rationale, didnt really make that much sense to me. But youve got to respect peoples ability to act according to their conscience, so I wouldnt presume to tell him what to do.(continued)

You have to go back...when he started, it was about his tattoos...and the fact that they were Christian Psalms.
His momma said "that's my nice boy".
What does momma say now?
We have to tolerate it. We don’t have to respect it.
I don’t respect it because I’m sick of the middle school mentality prevalent in people who left middle school years ago. “I just figured out how to take a stand on something important, that I think is not fair. I’m going to criticize it now, like I’m the first one to notice it. I’m not going to fix it. I’m not going to put it into perspective and appreciate all the other things that are right about our country. I’m just going to complain, because when you’re a middle school kid, that’s all the competence you have.”
I respect those who laid down and bled out for the flag he disrespects.
He’s a Musloid, Kaine, you fracking brain-dead worm.
Everywhere
No, I don’t.
Kop Killer Kaine.
Not the Kaine angle. But the whole episode
Kaine and Kaepernick: birds of a feather flocking together. Neither are deserving of any respect whatsoever. Merely useful idiots for the leftists. Fie on them.
Kaine has less conscience than Keystone Kopersick who has none at all.
Leni
He deserves as much respect as he is willing to give. NO MORE; NO LESS!
We have to tolerate that he is exercising his “ rights”
which are protected by the people he is disrespecting
But we don’t have to applaud him or accept that his gesture is noble
In fact he is exercising his right to be a spoiled brat of a man which is not respectable
Exactamundo. Kaine would have nothing but contempt for Kaepernick's "conscience" if it told him not to bake a cake for a gay wedding.
Howdy Doody speaks.
STFU!!!!!
They’re going down alright.
Another great thing for Rudy and Christie to use this weekend. And Trump too.
Not you VET. But I figured you’d know that :)
Except for bakers, and Catholics buying health insurance.......and B&B owners, and private school administrations.....and kids wanting to wear American flag garments to school....etc
When I spoke my conscience in public school, I got fired. I can't hear a word you're saying.
ESAD Mr. Kaine.
Have you seen your doctor???
