Vice President Joe Biden told fellow Democrats on Thursday that they should see it as “a gift from the Lord†if Republicans nominate Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas or billionaire businessman Donald Trump for president in 2016.
“We may be given a gift from the Lord in the presidential race here,†Biden told lawmakers attending the annual House of Representatives Democratic conference, held this year in Baltimore.
“I don’t know who to root for more: Cruz? Or what’s that guy’s name, he’s having a fundraiser for veterans tonight, I’m told,†said the vice president. Trump has announced he will snub Thursday’s Republican debate on Fox and will instead hold a veterans event in Des Moines at the same time....

This is what is known as briar patch politics. That term, of course, comes from Uncle Remus, from the story of Br’er Rabbit, who was FROM the briar patch and when Br’er Wolf was going to harm him, he kept saying, “Whatever you do, don’t throw me into that briar patch.” Of course, Br’er Wolf did — and it was just what Br’er Rabbit wanted.
They tell you they’re afraid of the guys they really want to run against and that they’ll clean the clocks of the guys they’re really afraid of, counting on Republican voters to fall for it.
That’s why “electable” candidates lose.

For once I agree with Biden, but not the way he means it.
TRUMP and CRUZ are gifts from the LORD. Even Biden acknowledges it.
I read somewhere that when Reagan got the nomination in 1980, the Carter campaign opened a bottle of champagne, because they thought that he would be far easier to beat than Bush.
No Rimshot. A “gift from the Lord” is Clinton being indicted and sent to prison where she belongs. Now that’s a REAL “gift from the Lord”. Standup Joey! Let us see those beautiful hair plugs!

Actually, I kind of agree. Either one would be a gift from God, for real. Stopped clock, blind pig, and all that.
I'm not saying the Republicans can't win with Cruz or Trump, but unfortunately demographics have changed dramatically since Reagan's wins. And it's long overdue for Republicans to effectively thwart Dem vote fraud.
