This is what is known as briar patch politics. That term, of course, comes from Uncle Remus, from the story of Br’er Rabbit, who was FROM the briar patch and when Br’er Wolf was going to harm him, he kept saying, “Whatever you do, don’t throw me into that briar patch.” Of course, Br’er Wolf did — and it was just what Br’er Rabbit wanted.
They tell you they’re afraid of the guys they really want to run against and that they’ll clean the clocks of the guys they’re really afraid of, counting on Republican voters to fall for it.
That’s why “electable” candidates lose.
I'm not saying the Republicans can't win with Cruz or Trump, but unfortunately demographics have changed dramatically since Reagan's wins. And it's long overdue for Republicans to effectively thwart Dem vote fraud.
Exactly. As Rush says, they do not have the Republican party’s best interests in mind.
