Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Monday challenged Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) to take a stand against Donald Trump's proposal to ban Muslim immigrants from entering the United States.
When asked if he would support such a ban on Monday, Cruz replied, "No, that is not my policy," but did not criticize Trump, according to the Texas Tribune.
"I believe the focus should focus on radical Islamic terrorism, and we need to be directly focused on threats to the United States," he continued. "We need a commander in chief that perceives what the threat is and that targets all of our resources to protecting this nation against radical Islamic terrorism."
A reporter then asked Cruz if he was concerned about anti-Muslim rhetoric in the U.S., according to the Texas Tribune.
"I don't believe most Americans are using language against Muslim Americans," Cruz responded. "We're using language against radical Islamic terrorists."
In an interview with The Guardian Monday, Graham condemned Trump's proposal and called out Cruz by name for not clearly denouncing the real estate mogul's comments.
"Donald Trump today took xenophobia and religious bigotry to a new level," Graham said. "It is time for Ted Cruz to quit hiding in the weeds and speak out against Donald Trump's xenophobia and racial bigotry."
Many Republicans were quick to condemn Trump's plan. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush called Trump "unhinged," and Ohio Gov. John Kasich criticized Trump's "outrageous divisiveness."
Who in the frikcin’ Hell is this little yip yip dog!?
Why don’t you make yourself useful, Graham, and go pee pee on John’s shoes.
bfl => bump for later
That’s like taking financial advice from a guy who files for bankruptcy.
Linda should change her party affiliation.
All those fools just unknowingly backed Obamaâs refusal to use his existing Constitutional power to shut down muslim aliens entering the country until they can be properly vetted.
Per existing federal law at 8 USC 1182:
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to appropriate.
Current laws banning admission to the US, and not requiring new laws. Just need someone like Trump to have them enforced:

Well, Graham has a point; Cruz should have had the political courage to either support or oppose Trump. It makes Cruz look weak.

Lindsey is beginning to sound like an old vaudeville act. Can someone please help him off the stage?
Which really begs the question as to why Cruz did not reiterate it and support Trump when asked about it ...

When will Graham realize he has become irrelevant!
Hey, Light Loafers Lindsay, maybe instead Ted Cruz might offer his views on homosexuality and its practitioners and whether such abominable characters have any business running for POTUS.
Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader
PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
Because in its original form, it was stated so broadly as to be interpreted as having unconstitutional impacts, and Ted would never go there.
This is the Trump campaign's original press release:
"Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on"
However, as the statement was hashed out by the press and the people, Trump "doubled down" by clarifying those gray areas, allowing non-suspect US citizens abroad to come back, allowing muslims to remain in the military, etc. At the end of the day, Trump's position ended up looking a lot like Ted's. Who's the real leader here? I think Ted is doing it right.
Peace,
SR
Trump, obviously; it's why he's taking fire from all sides and Ted is not in the foxhole with him, so to speak.
We can name Linda: Sore Jagoff
Lindsey Graham is up for reelection in 2018. Primary him!
Nope. Not until 2020. He was just reelected last year.
