Trump Personal Business Distractions

Posted on 09/20/2015 11:44:57 AM PDT by NGC 6822

For weeks I have been wondering why no media reporter, GOP candidate, debate moderator, network political analyst or individual citizen has asked Mr. Trump a very simple and basic question.

“Mr. Trump, if you are elected president, who will manage your businesses?”

I do not think this is a trivial question. The job of president demands 100% mental dedication and cannot tolerate conflicts with personal business interests. Owning an on-going business is not the same as putting a stock portfolio in a blind trust. To be sure Mr. Trump does have many managers to run day-to-day operations. But, I see even now that his campaign priorities are being compromised.

He speaks about important issues in a broad manner, but his failure to provide detail and offer specific solutions reveals a paucity of deep knowledge about these issues. I believe that he has just not had the time to study the issues in depth. His business obligations take precedent.

He often says, “We are looking into this…” “We will study the problem.” “We will fix this so fast that it will make your head spin.” Who is “we”? My head is already spinning.

When the current president (with no experience) was elected, the American people were promised, “Don’t worry, he will receive good advice from his appointments.” After how many czar appointments, we ended up with nothing—not even the czars anymore. They have disappeared!

Consider the following headline taken from “The Wrap” 18 Sep 2016:

Donald Trump Cancels Major GOP Speech Amid Obama Muslim Backlash

Now, look at the text under the headline:

“But according to a statement sent by his campaign, the GOP frontrunner is ditching his appearance at the Heritage Action Presidential Forum because of a ‘significant business transaction’.” - See more at: http://www.thewrap.com/donald-trump-cancels-major-gop-speech-amid-obama-muslim-backlash/#.dpuf

So, are we to understand that when the going gets tough for Mr. Trump, business obligations will take priority?

If Mr. Trump is elected president, and the economy turns sour, will he be lying in bed at night wondering about the intrusion of Russia into Syria, or about the health of the real estate market in New York? And, if two urgent phone calls ring in the oval office, one from the secretary general of NATO, and the other from his top business manager about a delicate negotiation that has been hanging for weeks, which one will he pickup first? Of course we know what he will say, but what can we believe?

but it is unfortunate the public are once again being deprived of hearing other candidates.....to their own hurt.

The other Demopub/Republicrat candidates, caww?

What, are you like 12 years old? Haven't you seen The Jeb Clinton-Hillary Bush Show before? [Obama-Romney, Obama-McLame, Bush-Kerry, Bush-Gore, Clinton-Dole, Clinton-Bush]

The Uniparty chooses its two red-rubber nose clowns, and we get to "vote" on them.

Why do you think the Uniparty and the Media (but I repeat myself...) have their undies in such a twist? The Dread Pirate Trump isn't supposed to be part of the equation, and he won't go away, no matter what they try.

You a Trumpswab?

I myself am a proud Trumpswab - the derogatory term used by the Left and GOP-ers to diss Trump supporters.

Modelled on the term "rumpswab", it's a more genteel version of the coarser "arsewipe".

My re-interpretation and re-direction of the insult is "Trump" + "swab" or "swabbie". A "swabbie" or "swab" is a low-level seaman in the British navy, or on a pirate ship.

The Dread Pirate Trump has run up the Jolly Roger, and is sailing the political seas, taking no prisoners. It's our duty as his "swabs" to make sure there are no survivors. :)

I feel sorry for you, if you really truly view a used car salesman,X don’t capitalist like Donald Trump as a revolutionary leader.

You must feel sorry for the Uniparty, its leaders, its adherents, and its Media arm, because they're all freaking out like Himself* is a revolutionary leader.

*"Himself" is a Scots term of respect to the local laird. I'm allowed to use it because I'm Scots, and so is Trump, of Clan MacLeod.

“Unfortunately we have a society that wants someone to “make them feel good”...just as Obama did.”

This is the BEST comment I’ve seen in the entire thread. I might actually get some sleep tonight, knowing that at least one other cool head is still out there in the darkness.

Never asked of the Clntons or obama.

“....Trump has stated MANY times who/how his business empire will be run, once he’s elected Prez.”

The key phrase here is “...once he is elected...” We have already had a president that required on-the-job-training. But, even after 7 years he still hasn't learned how to do it. Trump could possibly be different. I hope so. However, as a voter, I want to see evidence of his DEEP understanding of the issues NOW, before I vote—not superficial arm waving.

OK. I understand the wall. That's one important issue. However, I see other candidates that are also well informed on that issue, and a whole lot of other crucial issues!

GET WITH IT DONALD IF YOU ARE REALLY SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR JOB APPLICATION! Any good business man would require that of a new applicant. It's called preparation for the interview. AND, THIS IS THE INTERVIEW!

My observations.

Trump Delegates and expects results. Unlike Obama and many others before him, he does not put unqualified People in positions they have no business doing simply because they are his Donors, Friends or he owes them a favor.

I don’t see a “great job Brownie” moment in his future. It would probably be a “you’re fired Brownie” moment.

If the people he trusts do not walk the walk, they are escorted out and replaced with Competent People.

He is accused of not getting into details. He issues Business Plans (Policy Statements such as Immigration, Second Amendment and his Upcoming Tax Proposal) rather than standing up there getting mired in the same old Political rhetoric people are tired of.

I’m still hoping for a Cruz Missile Launch, but his numbers haven’t caught on yet. I’m starting to think that when I Donate to a Candidate, it insures their Political demise.

On a lighter note, the first Joke at the Liberal love fest Emmys was about Donald. Not one Hillary Jab so far, but they did make one Sanders quip and even went after GW Bush in a Video but it appeared the Audience didn’t quite get it.

Thanks. I think this whole Trump fracas is just a Dem/MSM ploy to disrupt the GOP and steal another election, though Trump isn’t being shy about it. If he should get the nomination they’ll turn on him with a vengeance.

He has people that can take care of business - same as a President has people to specialize in areas and do the heavy work so the Prez can make the final decisions.

During the campaign he may have some distractions; if elected, he'll turn over everything to his managers, and the pressitutes can spend the next four to eight years trying to catch him making or receiving a phone call to one or more of his managers or boards.

Meanwhile, as long as he's not running an abortion clinic employing transgendered illegals who are prohibited from concealed carry, and required to be smoke-free and drive electric cars to work, enough already with the "concern".

I have a strong suspicion that you are exactly right on both counts.
