For weeks I have been wondering why no media reporter, GOP candidate, debate moderator, network political analyst or individual citizen has asked Mr. Trump a very simple and basic question.
Mr. Trump, if you are elected president, who will manage your businesses?
I do not think this is a trivial question. The job of president demands 100% mental dedication and cannot tolerate conflicts with personal business interests. Owning an on-going business is not the same as putting a stock portfolio in a blind trust. To be sure Mr. Trump does have many managers to run day-to-day operations. But, I see even now that his campaign priorities are being compromised.
He speaks about important issues in a broad manner, but his failure to provide detail and offer specific solutions reveals a paucity of deep knowledge about these issues. I believe that he has just not had the time to study the issues in depth. His business obligations take precedent.
He often says, We are looking into this We will study the problem. We will fix this so fast that it will make your head spin. Who is we? My head is already spinning.
When the current president (with no experience) was elected, the American people were promised, Dont worry, he will receive good advice from his appointments. After how many czar appointments, we ended up with nothingnot even the czars anymore. They have disappeared!
Consider the following headline taken from The Wrap 18 Sep 2016:
Donald Trump Cancels Major GOP Speech Amid Obama Muslim Backlash
Now, look at the text under the headline:
But according to a statement sent by his campaign, the GOP frontrunner is ditching his appearance at the Heritage Action Presidential Forum because of a significant business transaction. - See more at: http://www.thewrap.com/donald-trump-cancels-major-gop-speech-amid-obama-muslim-backlash/#.dpuf
So, are we to understand that when the going gets tough for Mr. Trump, business obligations will take priority?
If Mr. Trump is elected president, and the economy turns sour, will he be lying in bed at night wondering about the intrusion of Russia into Syria, or about the health of the real estate market in New York? And, if two urgent phone calls ring in the oval office, one from the secretary general of NATO, and the other from his top business manager about a delicate negotiation that has been hanging for weeks, which one will he pickup first? Of course we know what he will say, but what can we believe?
For now however, Trump is not elected nor is he sworn in yet. So he cannot be faulted for occasionally adjusting his campaign schedule to attend to his business.
After all, we have several sitting governors and senators in this race. Why is it that they are not questioned about their priorities?
Indeed.
Clever.
Faux concern trolling is all that’s left, huh? I mean grasping at anything is what this is coming to?
How about this— Trump is lapping the field. Even under a barrage of incoming, he is lapping the field, and there is more on the way, as the forces converge.
Trump is weathered in by the GOP, the SOROS Left, the Democrats in DC, the Chamber of Commerce, the K Street mafia, even Republican think tanks like Heritage, the Lefty media, FOX, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN, Sunday Talk
Shows, and what? sixteen opponents!
And, there are roughly 14 months to go. How is all this to cheer you up?
So, what’s your guy doing? If Trump can’t survive inside the Alamo, how the h@!! is your guy going to?
THAT is the question YOU should be asking.
ever read about his children? I think they’re up to the task
In don’t think he really cares about the basics. This is all reality TV to him. The issue is he’s smarter than everyone else, and he’s better than everyone else. All other issues are irrelevant.
Again and again and again. Lol
Here is a question for you. The senators and governors running for president still have time o cast their votes and run their states. When these people give priority to their duties are you just as concerned that their minds are properly focused on running for president?
They all know only one person will get the nomination. Are they worried at night in their beds wondering if they should take care of the jobs they have verses giving it their best running as prez?
Why is it there is a double standard always with Trump but not with the others?
And, if you have listened to Trump long enough you will know that he has said many times he is transitioning the running of his business to his kids and senior executives so e can be president.
And again I ask why the double standard. The other candidates are certainly not all in running for president knowing full well the odds they will not win are high. I would then ask how sincere are the other candidates? I would not simply cherry pick Trump and ask him to prove himself and not ask the others. This is typical media bs.
The same folks that do so now...
Pretty simplistic view of how big things work but Trump is not, to, the kind of leader that every decision has to cross his desk for signature
He, Like Romney would put them into a capable set of folks he already planned for before he announced..
IBTZ...
....” dont think he really cares about the basics. This is all reality TV to him”....
Well yes, in a sense you’re right because that is what he knows how to do. He’s simply channeling that skill into the rally’s which is what has successfully obtained his following.
The question is will “rallying” people be sufficient to get him the votes of people who are looking for more than someone who says he knows how to fight and make deals.
Trumps definitely a “celebrity” candidate...and his supporters oftentimes much like Obamas supporters were....so Trump may very will win on that alone. Unfortunately we have a society that wants someone to “make them feel good”...just as Obama did.
Who knows how this will play out but what we do know is both the media and Trump have nothing to loose... both are getting what they want form this show....but it is unfortunate the public are once again being deprived of hearing other candidates.....to their own hurt.
the original poster rambled on in a vanity and was trashed, but asked one question in the end, which call would he answer..?
Not who will be handling his Corp etc blah blah blah and as some have mentioned and I am aware, have seen the video, thats all in place.
Trump as George Washington? Leading a revolution?
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Oh wait, you’re serious? Let me laugh even harder
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Maybe, I suppose if you go just by the polls it would indicate this...or at least that Trumps rallied enough people caught up in his excitement to show up at his rallies.
We shall have to see how he does when it comes down to more than rallying the people. I'm still hopeful that his positions and delivery of them will be more concise and with continuity rather than just a “fight team” spirit...though good for the time he needs to tighten up his game as the election draws closer.
Dead serious.
I feel sorry for you, if you really truly view a used car salesman,X don’t capitalist like Donald Trump as a revolutionary leader.
I would think his businesses would be a direct conflict of interest with the job of POTUS.
He has clearly demonstrated his ability to operate within the law, perhaps even influence it. All fair game as a citizen, but not an elected official.
But I thought elected officials are required to put their investments in blind trusts during their time in office (or at least have someone objective manage them). Would this not apply to businesses?
Any Freepers know the details?
Who do you thinks been handling it while hes been campaigning? His two ramrod sons and his brilliant, beautiful, elegant daughter.
From now on all insults will ever ignored. You will see that I am right. Don’t need your opinion, but thanks for trying.
I have no idea how much this race will tighten, but when it tightens it will be tightened by the Establishment Republicans who will be for Bush and Kasich, possibly Rubio and Carly. A four way poll to the finish.
Only Establishment Republicans can stop Trump. We just have to choose among the four whom it is among them that we are going to bring home to the nomination.
I cheerfully stick with Trump.
1) I insulted no one. I commented on your position on Trump, which is entirely misguided.
2) The irony of a Trump supporter complaining about insults is incredible.
For one....Trump has stated MANY times who/how his business empire will be run, once hes elected Prez.
I agree. Too many FReepers are too F'ing lazy to watch Trump's interviews or read his books to find out who the guy is.
BTW, I'm a Cruz supporter but respect Trump for waking up the lazy unwashed masses.
