Sen. Ted Cruz rained praise on primary rival Donald Trump Sunday, making a point to contrast himself with the many 2016 Republican presidential contenders who have been sharply critical of the real estate mogul.
Quite a few members of this field have attacked Donald Trump. A lot of folks in the media have asked me Ted Cruz, will you do the same? I have been glad to praise Donald Trump for speaking out boldly and brashly and for focusing on illegal immigration, Cruz said in an interview with POLITICOs Mike Allen at the Koch brothers-funded Freedom Partners summer conference in Dana Point, California.
Cruz added that there was a reason for his reticence to criticize Trump, referring to late President Ronald Reagans 11th Commandment against attacking other Republicans.

Can you imagine? Ted will only be 52 in 2024, after having (hopefully) served a long eight years as Vice President under the Trumpinator.
If he's elected President in 2024 (how could he not?), he'd just be reaching 60 after two full terms at the top.
After that sixteen year rein, this country would be in better shape than any living person has ever seen.
Please, dear God, let it be so.
Although Iv’e been critical of Trump...
... I like him with Cruz!
I think they would make a good teem.
STE=Q
Typo:
Iv’e = I’ve
Oh precisely because a good university is a terrible thing to go to.
Don’t mention it to Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Robert Bork, Anton Scalia....need I continue?
I definitely believe Cruz is shooting for VP under Trump at this point.
*************************
I believe that Cruz at VP would be a gross misapplication of his talents and potential. He would be a great Prez or SCOTUS Justice! ....He has the creds for the latter, for sure!
I suppose you are correct. Securing the nomination is important. I just can’t wait for the fight against Mrs Slickmeister. If each candidate lobbed five different attacks on her, there would be 50 issues she would have to defend herself against. She would have a mountain to dig out of at a time when she is trying to get to the convention.
Ted Cruz....a class act...
No...too direct
Trump already attacked and ridiculed Humma Abedin - Weiner (as surrogate for Hillary
Expect same treatment directed at Valerie Jarrett (as surrogate for Obama)...could be security....iranian connections....
...maybe the failed real estate deal where VJ brought up a big swath of depressed Chicago real estate in anticipation of building the Chicago Olympic Games on it.
Somehow, I still can’t believe that Trump is serious.
OTOH, there seems to be some sort of understanding between Trump and Cruz. That gives me hope that Trump has some sort of plan—whether he goes for the WH or not—for the good of the country.
...Dallas County Community College...
**************************
lol... I knocked out 40 hrs. at El Centro night school in the late ‘60s, before moving from Dallas Co. to Tarrant Co.
Community Colleges should not be overlooked. I eventually ended up with an AAS, BBA and MBA, after 208 hrs. of credit.
Thanks to Veteran benefits for getting to my BBA (160 hrs.)!
I don’t say these things to be bragging, but instead to tout how Community Colleges can really open a person’s eyes to potential. I was a poor student in public school, joined Naval Air Reserve early in Sr. year and went active duty 4 months after HS. ....Married and with little daughter 5 years after active duty, doing low paying work, but forced myself to go to Community College. ...Paid off in long run!
Big BTTT!
Trump is 63. Cruz is smaller than I thought.

Ted’s dad is Cuban. Other than Teofilo Stevens from Cuba, I believe MOST Cubans are not very tall. ....For the youngsters here... Teofilo was a heavyweight boxer. Most likely had an Anglo father, based on surname.
Does he deal with the REAL basics—like having REAL money instead of fiat toilet paper?
He's as East Coast as they come.
And a lot smarter than the Pope and all the toady bishops who are mouthing the Pope’s lies about “climate.”
“If he can turn around the nation Trump will have his face carved on mountains!”
The hair too?
Who dresses you Ted??
Trump went to Wharton—as in Penn, as in the Ivy League.
What happens to Trump after his first term?
Stepping down to be NY guv?
Makes no sense!
