Donald Trump was supposed to flame out fast. Instead, he's burning ever hotter in the first contests of the 2016 Republican presidential primary.
The real estate mogul and reality TV star has a seven-point lead over his nearest competitor in New Hampshire, and he's breathing down the neck of longtime Iowa caucuses leader Scott Walker, according to two NBC-Marist University polls released Sunday morning.
It's still very early in the 2016 campaign, and the first Republican debate on Aug. 6 in Cleveland could shake up the race, but Trump's surprising success suggests he will continue to be a significant force in the GOP primary.

1) Trump not serious 2) Trump will never file formal papers 3) Trump will never file financials 4) Trump is not as rich as he says 6) Trump will flame out quickly
are saying now? If they have been so ridiculously wrong so far, why should we pay any attention to Trump-haters?
Why do leftist pundits always equate conservatives with Republicans? We hate the GOP too!
I say, “Good!”
I can see some lib “journalist” putting out a column on 1/20/2017 as Trump takes the oath of office:
“The GOP’s Trump problem just got worse”.
The one thing that I see that is invariably lacking in these condemnations is the announcement by those same of who they support and detailing all the greatness of their candidate.
Frankly, I personally don't want him as a candidate. Cruz is my guy. But I can still revel in Trump's calling out of the seminal issues this country is presented with - namely illegal aliens, crime, cost and devaluation of our sovereign country. To the extent he does this and helps out those fence sitters, appeasers, equivocators and liars on our side, all the better.
Let’s see - the Left hates him, Democrats hate him, the media hate him, Government employees hate him, Republicans hate him, illegal immigrant groups hate him
Remind me again why I’m supposed to hate him?
Here is the reason the DNC is scared of Trump.
The Democrats pretty much have the monopoly on the “Low Information” vote. But Trump, because of his celebrity, can actually get a significant percentage of that vote. And the Rats need at least 90% of the Low-Info vote to win national elections.
I don’t care for Trump and don’t think he would be a good President (even though that bar is pretty low so who knows?).
However, I like that he says whatever he damn well pleases and doesn’t kowtow to political correctness. That in itself is refreshing.
Funny thing, it’s really the DEMS’ “Trump problem” because regardless of where polls are now-—people still thinking in terms of their own candidate-—if Trump battled in a campaign vs. Hillary the way he is now, he would win. Not sure how big, but he would win.
The poor hyperventilating author
is confused ... that Trump is HIS problem.
The debates should prove very interesting. I hope Trump is prepared for Cruz. (If Cruz makes it there.) Lets face it, the BIG $$$$, decides who will or not be there. Its all part of the control game.
The prognosticators are whining and shivering behind their keyboards. Lots of night sweats going on. :)
Remember it’s “Establishment/Globalist” Republicans like McCain and Jeb that hate him, and not conservative Republicans.
I would tend to agree...on name/face recognition....out of a hundred teens...more know Trump than Hillary. You could subtract probably 70-percent of the 18-to-21 year old vote that would typically show up for Democratic candidates.
This would bring up this odd question...if Trump won all the way...who’d be in the cabinet? Would he hire Wall Street types instead of lobbyist-political hacks? Would he amuse the public during the campaign and suggest he might be willing to hire Hillary for ambassadorship to Libya?
Trump is gaining ground, not losing ground.
The coming debate will expose and weed out the weak links.
Watch for Trump and Cruz to team up in the debates and run the table.
“’1) Trump not serious 2) Trump will never file formal papers 3) Trump will never file financials 4) Trump is not as rich as he says 6) Trump will flame out quickly”
Hey DINGBAT, you forgot to mention #7, that Trump is only in it to make Hillary look good. LOL!
Trump called Hillary a criminal in Iowa yesterday.
LOL. Lots of dirty Depends too.
2008-2010
First they said they couldnt do anything because they didnt have the Presidency, House or Senate.
2010-2014
Then they said they couldnt do anything because Harry Reid was blocking everything in the Senate.
2014-2016
Then they said they couldnt do anything until the 2016 elections because Obama would veto.
2016-2018
Now they are saying they wont be able to do anything even with a Republican President because too many Senate seats are up for grabs in 2018.
They promised us they would defund Obamacare. All talk, no action. They said they would reduce regulations on small businesses. Again, all talk, More speeches, no action.
Republicans control purse strings for 5 years through control of the House. What have they done? All talk, no action!
