Ben Carson announces presidential run!
>> The presidency requires someone who doesn’t need training wheels. <<
Agreed.
And a note to Dr. Carson:
We love you out here, doc. Really and truly. But politics ain’t brain surgery.
No, it calls for a completely different skill set — a set that you obviously haven’t yet acquired.
Therefore, I think you oughta go back and run for something like Mayor of your adopted hometown Baltimore, or Mayor of your native city Detroit. Then we can take another look at your qualifications.
IMO, therein lies the problem: believing the President ‘runs’ the country.
Per the Constitution, he has a role...but a VERY limited role. Sure, the CiC is important, but (unlike some here...and, again, this is my $.02) it is not to be the world police (unless you want that New World Order along with).
He’s a smart man and, I’d presume, be open to change his mind RE: 2nd.
Not enforcing the existing Constitution and/or Laws...THAT is non-CiC material. Else, I’m not seeing what else ‘needs to be learned’ ahead of time.
Yep
Emperor meet clothes
I have nothing against him Personally and he makes sense a lot...with exceptions
But many of the dwarfs are just pimping their Q factor
It makes them more valuable
In open field elections Republicans love to do this
Bumps up the name
Free publicity
More money
All under the guise of helping get America back
I’ve seen this forever
We’ve got one anointed
Several maybes
And now the long shots
They all better get their speaking fee heads right by South Carolina or Jeb Bush is the nominee
Same here. DR. Carson is light years above the wun.
He exudes support for gun control. I have no use for him
Carson and Florin now both in the hunt. Time to hit the lefties with their own strategy if they say things about these two candidates, call them racists and sexists.
It was polite talk. After he made the statement you quoted, I recall he did some public, wishy-washy (more polite talk) walkback on that statement.
However, IMO, your quote reveals the inner, gut attitude he has carried around for much of his life.
Some of the contenders, including Carson, may mostly be intending to elevate the discourse. And they probably will, as long as everyone remains classy.
Oh wow, speaking as a doctor he dissed an icon.
Except in the case of a narcissist who works around the Constitution and is not burdened by its essential safeguards (i.e., a balance of power, AKA political opposition).
At least we ought to be tracing hot button statements like this back to the original remark. It is very easy to misrepresent somebody.
It’s possible for him to give an opinion about the wisdom of something without implying it requires banning.
I want Bolton for Sec State - Fiorina can have Commerce or another one of the seats at the table.
Good line up, except I would put Colonel West as Secretary of Defense. Think he’d have no trouble rallying the troupes, and kicking butt where it needs to be kicked. Even if it’s OUT!
I was hoping he would stay out of it.
Yes. I was speaking generally.
The country has a long history of electing leading generals as president starting with our first president.
One problem I have is everybody wants to run for president. I think Dr. Carson should run for Congress or governor, or US Senate first.
Then you have candidates like Santorum and Fiorina. Both lost their campaigns for the US Senate, then moved out of their home states to the DC Beltway. I do not think that is a good platform to run on either.
What does “speaking as a doctor” have to do with anything outside of medicine? Gun control ain’t medicine.
I don't think anyone who wants to limit the bill of rights should be in any public office - ever.
