Almost any politician in America follows tried and true patterns when dealing with the media. They alert the media of an upcoming event, the media shows up, photos are taken, cameras roll. Sometimes questions follow. And then the media goes home. But not Sarah Palin.
Palin alerted the media of the first stop on her northeastern road trip: Rolling Thunder. But after some event organizers expressed displeasure at her attendance on Friday, her staff refused to comment about the appearance, and some reporters wondered if shed even go. No time was given the event lasted from 7am to 5pm. No venue was given Rolling Thunders course goes for more than five miles from Arlington cemetery around the National Mall. The annual charity for prisoners of war and missing in action draws a quarter of a million bikes and an estimated 900,000 participants good luck finding the Palin family.
Amazingly, some media did (bravo, APs Phil Elliott), though the former Alaska governor and vice presidential nominee mostly refused to answer questions. She signed jackets and hats, shook hands and admired tattoos. She rode on the back of her middle daughter, Willows Harley. Husband Todd rode with their youngest daughter Piper and their eldest daughter Bristol rode separately, according to media reports. Palin had rolling justice written in smeared ink on one hand and a George W. Bush sticker on her bike reading, Miss me? Theres no better way to see D.C. than on the back of a Harley! My family may be used to snowmachines more so than motorcycles, Palin wrote on her political action committees website. But whether youre riding the open road or the frozen tundra, youre celebrating a free spirit. What could be more American than that?(continued)

Man...this thread just reeks of Alinsky...
Don’t you know, she arrived “uninvited” like any other normal citizen wishing to attend.
I had to laugh when Gloria Borger said Palin was going nowhere ‘cause “she’s negative all the time.” Even Andy Sullivan denied that! Where do these reporters get their news? Oh, I forgot! They just make it up.
Precisely. Which is why I wrote this:
"...I know you posed the question as a reverse-given,"
But by merely posing the thought, even as a reverse-given (meaning "something you know not to be the case"), you nontheless cause others to ponder it. Surely you know this, just as surely you intended this. Or else why say it?
Again, consistency and logic will aid your credibility.
Good to see you're working on it.
;-\
I like the way she jerks the SRM`s collective chain. What did the “media” ministers think would happen after the character assassination Palin and her family underwent in `08? She knows anything she and her family says and does will be spun and twisted into the “media`s” Palin-is-an-idiot template.
Now they`re PO`d because she won`t play by THEIR rules?
Either that, or they just really, really enjoy seeing each other. Pretty flippin' awsome in any event.
8^D
Surely you’re not expecting literacy, are you?
They can both handle a bike.
Don't know if there's any pics of him in this ride, but here he is on his Harley at the “Law Enforcement Ride.” He rides in many charity events.
West/Palin - Two REAL AMERICANS - and what a ticket THAT would be...

and on “Atlas Shrugged” site - scroll down for a pick of Sarah on hog and then of Todd - who also rode, as did Willow, Bristol and Piper - helping to take Sarah's helmet off. Love the expressions. LOVE those two.
Exactly! Instead we are seeing the MSM vicously attack Sarah at every opportunity (while giving positive, respectful coverage to Romney, etc.). What should that tell us?
She was a BLUE STAR mother, not a GOLD STAR mother. That honor is for the mother's of soldiers who have been killed in service. A BLUE STAR mother is those whose soldier is still living.
Reminds me of the time the”media” tried to advance a rumor, based on a photo of someone fixing her hair from behind, that Sarah had brought a personal hairdresser to a speaking event. That “personal hairdresser” happened to be Bristol, who was reattaching a barret. Fast forward to yesterday, with the glaring errors in fact about who was driving the Harley, along with ABC reporting Sarah had shown up uninvited to the ROLLING THUNDER event.
The “media” will show no interest in fact checking their stories, because their assigned task is to trash the Palins. including Trig, at every given opportunity.
Most of today`s “press” is a pack of predictable, agenda-pushing, rumor-mongering DNC propaganda apparatchiks. Journalism died long ago in America.
I'm not so sure about that...What's that metal arm connected to the back of bin Obama's seat...Someone on the other end of it pushing him along???

There’s something just splendid about watching her flip off all of these characters, while sucking all the oxygen out of the room, don’t ya think?
;)
That's right---make 'em play by your rules rather than playing by theirs.
For someone who's supposedly irrelevant, the MSM sure is working itself up into a tizzy.
see my tagline....
The most genuine smiles of politicians since RWR.
I saw a bit of this on foxnews yesterday and they were reporting it with the tag line “Rolling Thunder . . . or Stolen Thunder”.
Even fox was buying the meme that Sarah Palin was upstaging the event. I don’t see how this makes much sense.
She was invited, she didn’t speak, didn’t invite the press to come along, and didn’t treat it like a ‘campaign’ event.
In any case, to me, it seems like the event got much more exposure because she was there. I think that would be a win-win for everybody.
