Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.

And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?

And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.

And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.

When I posted this the second time I added a new twist to the announcement by inviting the Hooter Girls to the Freep. I thought I had posted it in breaking news but I’m not sure and it didn't end up there. If I had posted it as Breaking News would it have been a misuse of that option?

It was an email I received from an NC State Senator regarding gun-control issues. Since it wasn't a sourced news article, I had a difficult time deciding whether I should post it. However, I felt it contained issues relevant to freepers and I received useful input from several people.

Of course, it was not an intellectual post (with words, etc.) so it is not as productive of light as it is heat. Also, the graphic seems to promote another website (his own). There may be grounds for objecting to those last two things, but I hardly think he is criticizing conservatives or Republicans.

I have to seriously question anyone who doesn't think that putting up a graphic declaring Democrats=Socialists and Republicans=Socialist Lite" as not being criticizing Republicans or Conservatives. Yes, the graphic promotes the users own website, and I thought at one time there was a rule against that, but I could be mistaken. If you read that users other posts, none of them could hardly be called "intellectual" or "honest" by any stretch of the imagination. At least, that's what *I* think.

In fact, he seems to be upholding what Reagan called "a banner of bold colors, not pale pastels."

IMO, that user's posts far from indicate the intellectual capacity to do just that. I'd have caught onto it if they were, but they're not.

Perhaps you'd rather FR be called "An Establishment, Moderate Bush Republican News Forum" rather than "A Conservative News Forum."

Snuck in a nice little Bush-bash with that one. A+ for style, D- for execution.

I've been critical of our President on several issues, and I've posted several threads specifically on the Stem Cell Research issue. None of those posts have "trashed" or "bashed" our President in any way. They pointed out however, where he was making an inappropriate Moral choice, based on his professed faith in Christ, and identified (100% correctly I might add) the slippery slope that Stem Cell Research has led to, and the recent announcements that Humans would be cloned very soon. As long as one is being intellectually honest in their debate, I have no problems with them. It's the blatant lies and "hit 'n run" tactics that many use here that I strenuously object to. Boucheau is one of those users, again IMO.

Fortunately, neither you nor I have the authority to unilaterally make such a change of nomenclature.

On this specific point, you and I will agree. I wouldn't want JimRob's job for all the tea in China, as the saying goes. I have zero patience for some of the absolute crap he puts up with here.

Accusations, of plots by our potential constitutional friends being responsible for 911 are very transparent and usually go nowhere. However, there is a lot of new more subtle propaganda that gets posted here lately. This type of propaganda usually blames a potential friend of the Constitution for trying to take our constitutional freedoms away.

A good example of this misinformation:
Ashcroft prevents noncitizen detainees from talking to their laywers on the phone. (A true statement)
Ashcroft prevents noncitizen detainess from talking to their laywers. (A false statement)

The second false statement gradually replaces the first correct statement -- in the statist press, then on FreeRepublic and then repeated by freepers.

ummm, I see little in that post that is ban-worthy. He is critiquing the party's actions, including the expansion of the federal government. Are you saying that THAT ought to get one removed from FR? Heck, I thought that was the purpose for FR, to hold our representatives to their Constitutional duties.

When Republicans play by the Democrats rules and start offering up socialism in hopes of winning votes they are guaranteed to lose. Democrats are more than willing to steal more from productive people to fund their pinko agenda. When the issue becomes "Who will offer the biggest gov't check" Democrats will always win. ...

I cringe when I now hear people talk about "freedom" in the US. Yeah, we're free to work half of every year to pay our taxes, fees, surcharges--protection money to leftist thugs! What freedom is there really when you can't keep most of what you work your butt off for? How many of you have spouses lucky enough to stay at home at properly raise your children?
