On July 4, Americans will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. At the heart of that document is the proclamation that “all men are created equal” and “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”
Today, many people think that belief in a Creator is a subjective preference based on their personal faith. But that was not the view of America’s Founders. Nor was it the view held by many of the thinkers who preceded them.
More than two millennia ago, key Greek and Roman thinkers already argued that nature supplies objective evidence of a Creator. Marveling at the vast array of stars in the heavens, the Roman statesman and philosopher Cicero concluded: “Not merely did their creation postulate intelligence, but… intelligence of a high order.”
The Bible taught the same: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands” (Psalm 19:1, NIV) and “since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).

Only those who’s hearts aren’t stone.

I just look at the Sky then see a
Jetliner at 40,000 ft. and marvel how Amazing It Is !
Then a Hummingbird Buzzed me and my thoughts go to similarities But the Awsome Differences of How vastly More intricate is that little Bird!
I liked my Chabad Rabbi’s explanation of G-d:
“G-d is the nature of the universe, so vast we cannot possibly comprehend.”
I extend that to thinking about G-d’s morality: Sin is that which causes bad outcomes because the universe punishes you and mankind because of your misbehavior. It is wrong to do a thing when the usual result is the universe punishes you and mankind for doing that sort of crap!
So too in our obligation to attempt to understand G-d: We ought to try as hard as we can to understand the nature of the universe and how our good actions within that G-d created system can contribute to best outcomes.
Th Torah or Bible are both much more and much less than that.
But I’m kind of a religious midget. I have my conceptions and occasional studies, and run with what I’ve got.
“The Epoch Times,” had a wonderful Opinion piece written by Rob Natelson, named “What is the Declaration of Independence ?”
His contribution tells What it was, the structure, and purpose in five paragraphs.
I read the Declaration of Independence out loud.
The wording is beautiful and brought tears to my eyes.
The signers of the Declaration knew that they could be hanged for their deed.
The closing lines are:
“And for support of this Declaration,
with a firm reliance, on the protection of devine Providence,
we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and
our sacred Honor.”
We owe our founders our honors for their bravery!
Water: the Strangest Liquid Not necessarily the best link on the subject, but gets the point across.
My theory: God broke all kinds of rules that govern almost ever other liquid when regarding water. The most basic liquid, to once again prove his divine design that we have learned to accept without knowing, without faith in him, we have the proof we need, we just need to open our eyes.
Intelligent design? Yeah, pretty obvious.
Good post!
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen
from Ephesians chapter 3.
Coincidence? I think not. Too many similar things out there suggest a deliberate construction. It may not be some fellow that gets it all done in seven days but I'd say a God who watches over his creation for billions of years shows a lot more commitment.
