Burns, who led the dedication ceremony, posted on X the same night: “Let me say this plainly: this is not a golden calf.”
The golden calf is an idol described in the Old Testament’s book of Exodus, whose construction by the Israelites enraged Moses upon his return from receiving the Ten Commandments. Idol worship is expressly forbidden under the Commandments.

When that statement drew continued skepticism, Burns followed up on Friday…
“Let me be very clear. We worship the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone. Honor is not worship. Respect is not idolatry.”…
Burns also wrote that the statue “reminds us of the hand of God over President Trump’s life,” and thanked God for “preserving him and not allowing his life to be taken, not once, but multiple times…”
The statue was financed by cryptocurrency entrepreneurs and Trump supporters, with Burns citing more than 6,000 contributors, according to AFP.
Its fate had been in doubt for months while sculptor Alan Cottrill awaited final payment. Cottrill told Barron’s that he received full payment two weeks before the unveiling and installed the statue in Florida the following day. He added that he was not invited to the dedication ceremony.

It’s HIS golf course. He owns it outright, and can have any statue he wants put on it. No religious semblance whatsoever.

At HIS Doral Golf Course? Sure thing. Does what he wants and this image is made from the photo of his surviving the planned assassination in Butler, PA-— just before the nominating convention to which Pompeo and Haley asked for and GOT opening speech slots— cause they were sure he’d be dead— to make speeches to open up the convention to “nominations” (not Trump of course). These two were in on this— make no mistake.

oh okay! Thank you. I thought I saw a post about the initial unveiling, but not pastors’ defenses.
If they can have a MLK Colossus see no problem with a Trump Don Colossus or anyone who helped the public.
There statues all over the place.
Trump is called to serve us, not the other way around. It’s the timing: gold statues are in poor taste when most of Trump’s own voters struggle to afford gas, groceries, and mortgages. And military families await with baited breath as their loved ones are deployed overseas. The president’s remarkable comeback and miraculous displays of survival thereafter do not preclude him from criticism from among his own. Redistricting was a major win and Trump deserves every pat on the back in pushing for it, but the concerns about Democrat prospects for retaking power are not moot and remain.
