For months, Peter Thiel, the right-wing tech billionaire, has warned of what he sees as an imminent threat from the Antichrist, an entity portrayed in some Christian traditions as one of Jesus’ ultimate enemies.
Mr. Thiel, an investor in artificial intelligence, says he is drawing on biblical prophesies to warn of an Antichrist who will promise safety from existential risks like nuclear war, climate change and artificial intelligence only to bring about something worse: one-world, totalitarian government.
Now, Mr. Thiel is encountering resistance from Christian thinkers in the Roman Catholic Church, just as he tries to build support for his ideas in the church’s backyard in Rome.
This week, Mr. Thiel arrived in Rome to deliver four lectures on the Antichrist. The series, which began on Sunday, is exploring how “occult forces are ceaselessly at work, intent on destroying what remains of the West,” according to the conservative Christian group hosting him.

Maybe Thiel is positioning himself for the job as “Mr. Fix it” and the RCC has somebody else in mind?

He suggested that international agencies and globalist “guardrails” on technology are forms of stagnation that mirror the deceptive stability associated with the Antichrist.
Thiel calls Technological Stagnation as Sin — he said that human progress is a “biblical precept.” Thiel argued that movements attempting to restrain technological growth (such as AI safety regulations or environmentalism) are acting in a role traditionally assigned to the Antichrist by preventing the “progress” God intended for humanity.

He’s pretty brilliant no doubt - Palantir is impressive. As guy who has spent a quarter century on datawarehousing which became analytics, business intelligence and then AI/ML — the way it categorizes and collates data via algorithms is impressive. I’ve seen it in use only in SCM - supply chain analytics, but it was massively impressive in node analysis and real-time analytics
Now this is were it gets weird — Palantir’s ONTOGOLOGY digital twin of a real-world org (think of it like a mini “matrix”) seems to be that it is exactly the kind of tool a centralized global power would use to establish the “unjust peace” Thiel claims to fear.
Thiel views Palantir as a “restrainer” (the Katechon) that prevents chaos by giving Western democracies a technological edge.
But yet, doesn’t the Antichrist offers an “apparent solution” to human problems through “pseudo-messianism.”?
The irony is that Peter Thiel is warning against a “technological Antichrist” while running a company that provides the world’s most powerful tools for global surveillance and centralized decision-making.

I’m glad there is discussion surrounding the Biblical view of the Last Days. The origin of the Antichrist is not something I would push. There have been arguments to say that his rise is from the Mid-east (Syria and Babylon) and Europe (Rome and Greece).
