O Lord our God, we live in an evil age where the faithful church has lost all moral authority and become a laughingstock to wicked souls without truth who profess themselves wise but are fools. Faithful men and women are held up by our vindictive enemies as fools to be mocked and persecuted and pro-lifers imprisoned for defense of the life of the unborn. When we proclaim the truth of Your gospel, of sin, judgment, and salvation, we are hated, reproached and derided for our backward, intolerant, narrow-minded beliefs by venous rulers, backbiters, the spiteful, boasters, haters of God, and false shepherd’s leading souls who do not endure sound doctrine away to hell. Yet the love of Christ compels us onward, to continue to testify, even to those who commit such things that are worthy of death, and have pleasure in them that do them.
Please Lord, break the teeth in their mouths; tear out the fangs of those lions! Let them vanish like water that flows away; may they be like a slug that melts away as it moves along. But deepen and strengthen the faith and courage of the righteous. Make it rock-solid and unshakeable in the truth of all that You have revealed. Strengthen Your children that we may carry on our tasks in this evil time. Bless us with love for those who hate us, desire our death, and jeer at our words. Give us compassion for those who are satisfied to die in their sins. Remind us that the fields are white for the harvest. Send us Lord into the field to reap a great harvest for Christ. We pray in his name. Amen. (Psalm: 58: 6-8; Isaiah 5: 29, 30, 32)
