A Mormon woman who was raped has revealed how her family blamed her for the attack and punished her for 'sinning.'
Kristjana Hillberg, whose family practiced mainstream Mormonism, appeared on a recent episode of the Cults To Consciousness podcast to discuss her harrowing ordeal.
The now 33-year-old laid bare the details of a sexual assault that left 'blood everywhere' and revealed how it made her mom 'sick.'
She was forced to 'repent' her sins to the bishop in the aftermath and she was eventually disfellowshipped from the religion.
Kristjana began by telling host Shelise Ann Sola what it was like growing up in a religion obsessed with purity culture in a tiny town of about 1,200 people.
'I definitely remember chastity being talked about all the time. It was never just something that was mentioned once or twice it was an ongoing conversation,' she said.
Kristjana said that breaking the purity rule was the 'sin next to murder,' adding: 'I remember even getting lessons like, "You don't want to lay horizontal with somebody because that will immediately lead to sex actions, which is awful."
'I really did take all of these lessons to heart because I wanted that feeling of always wanting to be a good girl even with my rebellious nature.'
She explained that by 18 she decided to go against the 'word of wisdom,' which warned followers against consuming alcohol - among other things.
'Essentially, just to sum it up, I decided to go to a party and obviously had no idea about alcohol and the way that it altered your body,' Kristjana said.

The ironic thing about Catholic sexual conduct problems is that ultimately, those are problems of homosexuality. It seems that aspect is often ignored to smear the Church overall.

This is right up there with the pro-abortion agenda mentioning a bomber (Eric Rudolf) from the 1990s as an example, over, and over, and over... Even today. Because if you disagree with abortion, you’re a radical Christian bomber! Now of course the literally —DOZENS— of Islamic based terrorists blowing $hit up just in the US, with some attacks being pretty bad and not just the WTC, think Boston Marathon... they will hardly get mentioned by a liberal media and Hollywood. When is the last time you heard the Boston Marathon bombing mentioned in the news, anywhere? Why do you think that is?

These stories are all junk.
But there are those that have a predisposition in not liking the Mormons for whatever reason, and this caters to them.
But if you replace Mormon with Muslim, this story would have an entirely different spin by the MSM. Wanna bet!?!?!

It’s not “routine”. That’s a media myth. It’s horrible wherever it happens. It’s worst in general society and public schools. It goes on in every Christian denomination at the same percentage it goes on in Catholicism. Tiresome is the canard that it’s somehow exclusive to Catholicism. It may be decreasing within religion/faith, because many are more reluctant to hide it now and go to the authorities.

And THAT is the point of posting these articles. Some people seem to be motivated more by hating Catholics than by hating sodomites and rapists. Someone who is serious about getting rid of sexual abuse will understand that the problem is much larger than one Church.

Exactly. 79% of the acts within Catholicism involved boys between 11-16. This is a homosexual problem but the powerful want to pretend that the victims are small children of both sexes.
i believe it! “always blame the woman” is a theme with alot of folks and their religious beliefs/old fashioned way of thinking.
