Jesus Unveiled Bible Prophecy, So Why Are Only 2% of US Churches Teaching it?
Harbingers Daily ^ | 9/5/23 | Bill Perkins

In a recent Lifeway poll they found only 2% of churches in the USA teach Bible prophecy. This is an amazing latter-days stat for several reasons:

1- Roughly 30% of the Bible is prophetic. They’re ignoring almost 1/3 of the scriptures.

2- 100% accuracy in past prophecies fulfilled literally separates the Bible from every other book on the planet. It not only claims to be written by God, it proves it by predicting the future.

3- The entire Book of Revelation was prophetic when written. Today everything from Revelation 6 forward is still in the future and likely to be fulfilled within the next 7-14 years.

4- The Book of Revelation is the only book that promises Believers a special blessing for even trying to read and understand it.

Revelation 1:3 KJV – “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”

I once read comments on Rev. 13:16-17 (Mark of the Beast) in a turn-of-the-19th-century commentary. The writer explained that each bank could have a person standing inside with a list of those forbidden to bank, and unless you got the OK-nod from him, they wouldn’t let you transact business.

Woke Churches don't teach Prophecy and they don't even care about the Return of their King.

Is that too harsh?

I would suggest your average church going coddled Western Christians would abandon Jesus at the first sign of persecution.

REVELATION 3:8-10 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. 9 Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie—indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. 10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

In my opinion, the modern Christian Church, both Catholic and Protestant is very fluid in their teachings. I can only speculate, but I do suspect the answer has a lot to do with,
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Like the man that owns the hardware store in town not putting up any political signs lest he upset some of his customers, these churches are afraid of upsetting some of their tithing parishioners.

Hmm well yes it is, you just choose not to see it as it is happening all around you. Bible speaks of people in the last days having blinders on...many do including you.

Churches are the creation of men, and serve only the needs of men, some of whom are base and corrupt. In human experience, every organization, institution or bureaucracy eventually evolves into an entity that serves only itself, and noble, good intentions are obfuscated and discarded.

2% ...sounds about right

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The Bible is absolutely clear the the overwhelming majority of the world shall be deceived. Buying groceries will be impossible for Tribulation Saints who refuse the Mark of the Beast. Look at how quickly a substantial portion of the world was locked down for COVID-19(84).

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 King James Version

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Roman you wrote: “Woke Churches don’t teach Prophecy and they don’t even care about the Return of their King.

Are you equating churches that dont teach prophecy as being “woke”? The church I go to teaches scripture thru expository preaching. For example when we started the gospel of John we started it in June of 2018 and finished it earlier this year. When/if the text called for touching on certain topics, prophecy or not, they were addressed.
The main scope of preaching in ANY church should be the Gospel and Christ crucified NOT prophecy. Prophecy DOES NOT give people hope, as is seen in the quote below from the article. What gives people hope is the gospel and the promises of God and knowing who God is in His attributes that whatever happens God is good, He is merciful and has a purpose in all that occurs. That is what what gives me hope. Knowing WHO He is, what He has done.

Quote from the article “I know one thing, Satan sure doesn’t want Believers to study prophecy because it gives people hope. Through prophecy we find out we can live boldly in the face of the approaching storm because we know we’ll be rescued before the Wrath of God is unleashed on the earth”

In the above quote prophecy doesnt give me strength to live boldly, the Holy Spirit does!!! God saying what will eventually happen doesnt make me live boldly...Knowing WHO God is and His attributes makes me live boldly!!!! The article is very shallow, IMHO, and doesnt go deeper to the real reason we can live boldly...and that reason is GOD and WHO HE IS!!!!

Also you wrote: “I would suggest your average church going coddled Western Christians would abandon Jesus at the first sign of persecution.”

The reason why some would abandon Christ with persecution is becasue those who would abandon Jesus were not believers in the first place. A true believer would never fall completely away because they will be kept by the power of the Spirit, Peter being an example. He denied Jesus but He returned because of the promise of God and the Spirit working in his life. Those believers who suffered under communism did not live and suffer for Christ due to their knowing prophecy but rather because they KNEW HIM.

2 Tim 1:8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. 9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, 10 but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. 11 And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. 12 That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.

Dig deeper!!!!

” Let no man deceive you by any means”

Looks like you have a pretty good handle on that part so far ..

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

It’s out there ... and growing ..

I think he’s just simply saying that “social gospel”-type churches don’t teach Bible Prophecy. And I agree with that notion.

He’s not saying that every church that doesn’t teach Bible prophecy is Woke.

I worked for a church organization that I won’t name online.

They definitely fit that verse. They were actively taken over by Leftists in certain parts of the organization to deceive the laity; in direct violation of what that verse says.

Not surprisingly, the group I was in, their “church services” for over two years never taught from a Bible in a pulpit.

Not ONCE in over two years of monthly attendance to “church services”.

Roughly 30% of the Bible is prophetic. They’re ignoring almost 1/3 of the scriptures.

I would say that is low. "The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy"(Rev 19:10). Add the prophetic character of history.

All scripture is profitable. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing. Who decides what is important?

To be fair, there are different schools of prophetic interpretation, and even all conservative Christians are not in agreement on them. As for the end of the world, we know the general scenario but not all the details. Plus, a lot of humility is in order. In the past, some have made grandiose predictions that didn’t even occur, making themselves look ridiculous.

the much larger problem is not the church but the people who go to a church, believe everything the preacher preaches but never study their own BIBLE to see if these things are true. Someone once told me to be a good Berean. as the bible reads “the Bereans were more noble than the rest because they accepted our words with all readiness...but then studied the scriptures daily to see if these things were true.” your Bible translation may differ slightly but the meaning is crystal clear...YOU need to know your Bible as well or better than your pastor or the preacher you follow. your soul depends on it.
