In my opinion, the modern Christian Church, both Catholic and Protestant is very fluid in their teachings. I can only speculate, but I do suspect the answer has a lot to do with,
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Like the man that owns the hardware store in town not putting up any political signs lest he upset some of his customers, these churches are afraid of upsetting some of their tithing parishioners.
the much larger problem is not the church but the people who go to a church, believe everything the preacher preaches but never study their own BIBLE to see if these things are true. Someone once told me to be a good Berean. as the bible reads “the Bereans were more noble than the rest because they accepted our words with all readiness...but then studied the scriptures daily to see if these things were true.” your Bible translation may differ slightly but the meaning is crystal clear...YOU need to know your Bible as well or better than your pastor or the preacher you follow. your soul depends on it.
I honestly believe that most pastors don't understand prophecy and its relevancy for today's happenings.
I also believe that the enemy is purposely blinding today's church from what is about to take place, thereby leading to emergence of the Laodicean church, the one where Jesus is knocking at the door but not being invited in.
