what makes sense in your mind is not always in line with what God has to say through HIS word about the matter. You know the Creator of you and all? we mere humans often think we know better or come up with things that we think God surely would approve of, yet many many times we are wrong. He never is.

Jesus even said pray to The Father. no where does it tell us to ask Mary or any person to intercede.

I was raised catholic and have learned and understand the difference of respecting Mary but not disobeying the Son of God who told me my prayers should be to The Father.

pagan practice, eeh?

Would mohammedans, jewish, greek orthodox, russian orthodox, buddhit, hindi, daoist, shinto ....and, to include them as well, Pagan - i.e. Norse Heathen, Reconstruction Hellenists, religio romano, modern celts, the romanii of the balkans, native americans, American Pagans, and finally (shhhh!), practitioners of witchcraft.

**if i left anyone group out, it is possibly out of my not knowing you are there, and apologize.

try the second half of the Hail Mary prayer, not any of it based on scripture. just as with all religions they use part truth part man made up stuff to get people thinking it’s ok when really it’s out of line with Word of God.

Mary is dead.

Is your God the God of the Dead?

Or is your God...
The God of the Living?

You better think about that.

Jesus even said pray to The Father. no where does it tell us to ask Mary or any person to intercede.

But when Mary interceded for the couple at Cana who ran out of wine, He didn't tell her to have the couple ask Him directly.

Scripture makes it perfectly clear that Mary intercedes for us.

—> Prayer to Mary, the saints, our guardian angels, is premised on the validity of intercessionary prayer.

And yet never taught nor commanded in Scripture.

Never practiced by an Apostle.

Yes a young Jewish woman asking her son to do something to help prevent embarrassment for the family of the couple.

Yet doesn’t teach prayer.

Never. Not once.

You cannot understand Catholic Veneration.
Her soul magnifies the Lord.

You do NOT HAVE TO VENERATE MARY TO BE SAVED.

It just makes it easier for some.

Remember though, No Mary, No Jesus.

Why wouldn't this same Jewish woman be willing to help you or me?

I carried a silver 1880s rosary as a religious charm for decades

All over the world

I was arrested in Miami in 1990 and it disappeared with my contents at Dade county stockade

And I’m southern Baptist southerner

I have no truck with em

“Remove the word vain...”

The Bible would be a whole lot easier if a lot of words were removed. However, the word is present, so lets look at the definitions of the word.

One of the definitions of “vain” is producing no result; useless. “a vain attempt to tidy up the room”. So now lets substitute the definition in the scripture:

In praying, don’t use vain [producing no results; useless] repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.

I assert that my point still stands even with the term “vain”.

Have you prayed to Moses Lately? John the Baptist? Paul the Apostle? Elijah? King David?

Why not?

Actually, I do pray to Saint Paul.

And to Saints Anne, Peter, John, Jude, Lucy, and Anthony. And to my Guardian Angel.

And to the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

No, it’s not howdy. You don’t hail your average person, much less announce that they are “full of grace”. That whole sentence is full of profound meaning. That is why she is amazed and not terrified like everyone else who is greeting by an angel.

Well, not so young. Most likely in her mid to late 40s.
