The sabbath begun in the finishing of the work of creation; so will the everlasting sabbath in the finishing of the work of providence and redemption; and we observe the weekly sabbath in expectation of that, as well as in remembrance of the former, in both conforming ourselves to him we worship. He hath himself blessed the sabbath day and sanctified it. He hath put an honour upon it; it is holy to the Lord, and honourable; and he hath put blessings into it which he hath encouraged us to expect from him in the religious observation of that day. Let us not profane, dishonour, and level that with common time, which God's blessing hath thus dignified and distinguished.

Don’t make it too complicated. Just read Romans 14.
Our family was visiting there for the first time as a gesture to the family of her thankfully now ex-husband, soon after my sister was married. If I hadn't just turned 17, I like to think I would have walked out. My sister's ex later on spent years in prison for raping his stepdaughter. Her marriage didn't last but a couple of years after her ex got hooked on heroin in Viet Nam.
I don't have a very high regard for so called Evangelical preachers.
I also see your point.
And, The whole world observing the same day for Sabbath would fulfill -
“The whole earth is at rest”
Not to be blunt but Gentiles aren’t part of the covenant. So there is no obligation for you to follow the law.
Now, is it a good idea? Probably. It’s valuable to all.
But the laws required of gentiles are the Noahdic laws, which exclude Shabbos as a requirement. (In general, they are otherwise largely overlapping on moral issues.)
“The Lord’s Day” to which the catechism refers is Sunday, not Saturday. Christians have no special obligation to observe Saturday; it’s part of the ceremonial Mosaic Law.
Read Romans 14:5-6.
Col 2:16
New King James Version
So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,
I’ll just toss this one into the mixing pot.
Actually, I believe we are in the 7th day (a day is like 1000 years), and every Earth day is part of this continual Sabbath (day of REST).
Says who?
"Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy" is a directive to corporate worship with the rest of one's faith community. He didn't say, "Any day will do..."
We are of course to pray and be in communion with the Holy Spirit all day, every day. But the Commandment is about one Holy day set aside for one's blood family and faith family, and the Lord's Supper with those gathered—a day different from the rest.
——>Saturday; it’s part of the ceremonial Mosaic Law.
No, it’s part of the Moral 10 commandment law, of which Christ specifically said to REMEMBER.
The problem is when is THE Sabbath?
If you have researched the fundamental beliefs of your denomination and have accepted and affirmed those tenets, then follow what your denomination (or your strain of Catholicism or Orthodox) does, since the family/congregaton aspect is a key part of a Sabbath whenever possible, especially if you are a faith leader for your children.
If you are still a “cafeteria Christian”, try studying the New Testament chapters that make references to the Sabbath. It hass become easier to do now that the Bible and keywords are widely available free online. Doing so may lead you to on your path to feeling assurance in a denominational home. Find a Statement of Beliefs or a catechism that you believe is most worthy not because of personalities or amenities but because of doctrine.
That’s an easy, convenient cop-out. Defining your own “Sabbath” is like defining your own “gender.”
Hardly. Worlds apart. Better to have a midweek Sabbath than none at all. Everyone cannot get off of work Saturday and Sunday.
