The Pope said that 'the Church loses its pastoral nature' when Communion is denied to pro-abortion Catholic politicians and that 'it causes a political problem.'
VATICAN CITY (LifeSiteNews) – Pope Francis has broken his silence on the U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which grants states the power to outlaw abortion, saying that bishops must be “pastoral” with pro-abortion politicians.
In a 90-minute interview with Reuters’ Vatican correspondent Philip Pullella, published Monday, the Pope said that while he respected the court’s decision to overturn the landmark 1973 ruling which imposed abortion on all 50 states, he cannot “speak about it from a juridical point of view” because he had not studied the law, the report stated.
Although declining to comment on the once purported, and now overruled, “right” to abortion in the U.S., the pontiff did state his opposition to abortion, likening the barbaric practice to “hiring a hitman” in remarks reminiscent of his 2018 condemnation of abortion.
The Pope asked: “Is it legitimate, is it right, to eliminate a human life to resolve a problem?”
Pullella reportedly questioned Francis on the controversial issue of Catholic politicians receiving Holy Communion while openly supporting the “right” to kill children in the womb, especially in light of Catholic U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi regularly receiving the Eucharist. Pelosi has advocated abortion and subsequently been barred from Holy Communion by her local bishop, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco.

Good advice which I shouldn’t have overlooked, because when my Dad spent his final years at the Jeanne Jugan Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor in D.C., I used to attend Mass at the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church located right next to the LSOP Home.
I don’t know if you are Catholic. I grew up Lutheran but joined the church about 10 years ago. There is a lot I cherish about the faith; however, my eyes are on Christ and his words; his Gospel. If this were you or I and not someone of Nancy Pelosi’s wealth and power, we would face not only denial of Communion but if we did not change our stance, excommunication. Greed and power are their Gods. This man is Not MY Pope. And he does NOT speak for God.
And yet they still pray the TLM in communion with Jorge the Heretic.
Jesus came to save the sinners, not the healthy. As Catholics we have many sinners.
I am glad to be part of the Catholic Church which Jesus founded for all salvation, even with all the sinners.
Yes, there have been many that have left their Catholic faith over the centuries and follow false beliefs including priests and bishops.
Jesus gave us the Mass and the Sacraments including the Eucharist and Confession.
All are welcome to seek and accept God’s Truth. All are welcome to adore Jesus and listen to Him at Adoration hours, or even when He is hidden in the Tabernacle.
While we may not like Pope Francis, Cardinals Cupich and many others, we have to live with them and suffer through their sinful ways.
As you said, we follow Christ and His teachings that are our Catholic faith and Trust God that His teachings will always remain with His church.
God Bless and thank you for your family service to our country.
Pelosi, Biden and Francis will all face a judgement when they die. Pray for them that they change and repent.
You might ask the Kennedy clan about that.
And yet they still pray the TLM in communion with Jorge the Heretic.

Not so. They pray TLM in communion with the Catholic Church as it was founded by Jesus Christ, and which will continue to exist until the end of time no matter how many enemies, persecutions, and heretics attempt to destroy it. In fact, the Catholic Church can never be destroyed unless and until God wills it to be done.
Another good point.
“ The Pope asked: “Is it legitimate, is it right, to eliminate a human life to resolve a problem?”
So, he says he can’t comment because he hasn’t studied the law. But he knows it’s a human life?
Is he a biologist?
Interesting. What do you see in Orthodox churches that makes them 'orthodox' - pun intended?
Every TLM includes the “una cum” in the Canon of the Mass which prays in union with the current pope. As long as one recognizes Jorge the Heretic as pope and includes his name in the Canon of the Mass, then he is praying in communion with him.
Just to clarify for non-Catholics, fortes fortuna juvat is representing an extremist position in the Catholic Church.
I understand.
I had a good discussion about today’s Gospel with our prayer group about the lack of leadership in our shepherds.
Pope Francis banned Fr. JesusMary (Ivory Coast) from public ministry for stating facts about the Pope not following the Catholic Faith and allowing other Bishops to support and preach about non Catholic values. Then, told him not to critique the Pope.
(He is permitted to say Mass privately on the condition that he refrains from writing criticism of the Roman pontiff.)
Another priest cancelled.

A thoughtful response letter to the Pope. Another letter or dubia that he will ignore.
Pope Peter (1 Peter3:17) stated that “For it is better to suffer for doing right, if that should be God’s will, than for doing wrong.”
So I anticipate that we will need to suffer for the Lord.
Yes you are absolutely correct that we are commanded to Love and pray for these people and not allow our anger and desire for righteousness lead us into sin. As angered and sickened as I am by their evil, and let us call it what it is, there by the Grace of God go I.
Everything that happens happens either because God willed it to be so, or because God chose to permit it to be so. That's pretty basic.
Communion is supposed to be denied to those in “manifest grave sin”. “Manifest” would mean publicly known. If the person had a “public persona” which was to advocate for abortion, I would say that would qualify. If it’s just their privately-expressed opinion, probably not.
the pope ignored the archbishop of san francisco when Pelosi went to the vatican last week time for and old fashion schism
