A pastor from Tennessee who said Democrats couldn’t be Christians because of the party’s pro-choice stance noted that he gave up his tax-exempt status.
Pastor Greg Locke of Mt. Juliet’s Global Vision Bible Church, close to Nashville, told his congregants he considered Democrats to be “baby butchers.”
In a sermon earlier this month, Locke said: “You cannot be a Christian and vote Democrat in this nation. I don’t care how mad that makes you. You can get as pissed off as you want to. You cannot be a Christian and vote Democrat in this nation. They are God-denying demons that butcher babies and hate this nation.”

On a Facebook post on Sunday, Locke said that he renounced his tax-exempt status and stood his ground regarding his stance on Democrats.
He added: “Guess what I did this week. I got an attorney, and I dissolved our stinking 501c3 in this church because the Government ain’t gonna tell me what I can and what I can’t say. So, IRS, we don’t need your stupid tax-exempt status. You can put it in a bag and burn it in your front yard for all we care. I renounced 501c3 communism in this church.”

Oh, please, is this going to be a lecture now? Of course not. I differentiated between falling to temptation vs intentional evil. You don’t need to evangelize me.
He doesn’t need to rank sin. You can’t sit there and tell me that you believe all sins are equal though.
Where does it say that he was kicking people out of his church?
Ironically, Catholicism is technically supposed to ex-communicate anyone who supports abortion, and I don’t see the level of condemnation for them doing it as I do for Christians doing it.
Nobody is saying they can’t attend his church, are they?
I'm not sure of Catholic doctrine. But I don't think they have to ex-communicate them. But they are supposed to withhold communion from public officials who support abortion, as they are doing now with Pelosi.
We have fundamentally different views.
Our currency say “In God We Trust” which wasn’t on Caesar’s coinage, and our Constitution, which Rome didn’t have, states that freedom of religion is an inherent right, also not espoused by Rome. Also, nothing in the 501c3 exemption says he can’t throw someone out of his church. It only addresses profit and political activity, not who can and can’t remain a member of the non-profit organization.
“To be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, an organization must be organized and operated exclusively for exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3), and none of its earnings may inure to any private shareholder or individual. All sin is disobedience and an affront to the holiness of God and results in separation from Him.
So all sin is not equal in the effect it has on us or others, but is equal in consequence in that every bit of it leads to separation from God and needs the atonement offered by Jesus Christ.

How many times have titles been inaccurate?
Pretty high percentage, from what I’ve seen. I did break with tradition and read the article, and it did not say he kicked them out. Additionally, there is a big difference between attendance and membership. You can kick someone off the membership rolls but not prohibit them from attendance.
I’m not quite sure myself that one can dogmatically say with certainty that one cannot be a Christian and be a democrat.
But I will will absolutely reserve the right to question the genuineness of the claim of conversion of anyone in that position.
In the case of a new believer, it may just be a matter of time for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to do its work. However, one who knows better and still votes democrat because they hate Trump’s guts with a passion (and I have met people like that) or whatever other reason, has certainly given me plenty of material by which to wonder about the genuineness of their conversion experience.
