The Deafening Silence and Grievous Complicity of Church Leaders During Covid

A woman protestor holds a placard at a freedom rally in Bournemouth, England, Feb. 5, 2022.

Church leaders, beginning with Pope Francis and the Vatican, have been silent and complicit in the face of grave wrongs committed over the past two years — each neatly summed up in the picture above.

In the case of the Vatican, it has committed these injustices on its own territory, enforcing some of the world’s strictest vaccine mandates even when evidence mounts that these shots pose considerable health risks, especially for young people, and the threat of the virus, once serious according to scientific modelling, recedes.

Having long washed its hands of any concern over the jabs being abortion-tainted, the Vatican unquestioningly went along with the powers-that-be followed by most of the world’s bishops. That might have been understandable at first but this position did not change.

Never mind the gross injustices, unnecessary hardships, and suffering caused to millions by the madness of lockdowns and vaccine mandates.

The Church’s leaders remained silent on the policies, but not before becoming complicit, committing injustices against the souls of their flocks by closing churches for long periods, enforcing restrictions on worship, banning the unvaccinated from the sacraments in some cases, and most recently backing grossly unjust, state-sanctioned vaccine mandates.

The sheep felt abandoned by their shepherds as their bishops fixed their gaze on physical health and mass groupthink rather than the eternal well-being of souls and commons sense — a this-worldly orientation that has been in the making for decades but which came of age during COVID.

History will not look kindly on the leaders of the Church during this period, even less so if they remain silent and complicit as more details of unjust and dishonest public health policies of the past two years continue to emerge.

The leaders of the church should be more concerned about how Christ will view them rather than history.

This is where discernment is required between having Faith in Jesus Christ Our Savior, and being religious. They are not the same.

The cooperation of the Church in this state-sponsored insanity is probably the thing that has bothered me the most.

Here in Washington State, church leaders weren’t silent: they were supporting the shutdowns and appearing in pro-vaccine PSAs sponsored by the State.

Sheep who “feel abandoned by their shepherds” were abandoned by their shepherds many sheep lifetimes ago.

Don’t let it bother you. You won’t believe how easy it is to turn your back on the fake church. This is not Jesus’s church.

Excellent article. Church leaders that shut down their churches during covid should be completely ashamed of themselves.

In the Southern part of our state where I live the diocese opened up car masses the week after Easter. That lasted about 6 weeks and then I’ll be our Bishop opened the churches. We had to wear masks in socially distance but at least there were masses And we had the Eucharist. The northern part of the state kept their churches closed for quite some time and if you can believe this when you went up for communion they directed you to go outside to consume it! I was horrified.

The majority of the protestant churches remained closed until August of 2020 and then when the surge happened, Shut down again for months.

I can’t believe how many people stopped attending mass because the Of fear. We all have a chance every moment of our lives to die suddenly And to deprive ourselves Of the liturgy and the Eucharist is Just insanity.

What kind of chickens have christians become?

So, our leaders, religious and governmental, have failed us but those individuals who have abandoned their houses of worship without a whimper are just as culpable.

Leaders at my church just went along with whatever the commie atheist County executive said.

I protested in a long letter telling them we had rights and the right thing to do was stand up.

I got the stupid “do you want to kill the old lady at church?” Argument. Notwithstanding they never bothered to ask her opinion.

They recently went back to masking at the executives mandate.

I haven’t been there since.

The mandate was lifted and I’ll attend tomorrow.

Aside from their sissyish allegiance to their government overlords (it’s Maryland and bred into them since birth) it’s a very good church.

If you believe, as I do, that both COVID and the vaccines were planned bioweapons, brought to us by the Godless Globalist NWO billionaires, then it makes perfect sense that the churches would be going along with it.

All the Western institutions that used to promote Christianity have turned against it over the past 50 years....government, academia, the media, the arts, etc. At the same time, mainline denominations are also entrenched institutions unto themselves.

So if a nation’s institutions and much of it’s population have turned against Christianity, it makes sense that these mainline denominations would also be corrupted, in order for them to survive and continue, for the sake of continuing revenue for priests, ministers, and a whole host of church administrators, etc.

COVID is the piece de resistance of Godless totalitarianism. If the churches are down with climate change, same sex marriage, open borders, etc, why wouldn’t they be just as gung ho about COVID tyranny?

I am sorry that I have to ask this question, but I do feel like a good many here would also like to know- Is there no denomination or independent church that is standing against the covid madness?

A number of small IDF Baptist churches, have found.

Everybody hates them so they may be on the right track.

Amish and Mennonites, interestingly.

Also, the Polish-Canadian Pastor Artur Powlawski.
The one that ran Covid police out of his church services on Easter with a hail of abuse, calling them all Nazis and Communists.

Church of the Abdullam Cave, Alberta. He’s with the truckers at the Coutts, Alberta/Montana border right now.

Much of the Christian church does not want to be accused of being “unscientific”

That’s interesting- I should have suspected that the Amish might be there, although I had sort of thought that there might be more. Maybe there are many more, just laying low for now. Thanks.
