Atheism And Ceasing To Exist Oblivion.
By JAG
August 2021
When you die, is that the end of you? Or do you continue to live on and on somewhere after you die?
Atheists answer those questions as follows:
Some atheists say they do not know if humans cease to exist after death, that there may be an afterlife.
Many other atheists say that humans DO cease to exist after death. The following remarks are addressed to those atheists who we can correctly label "Humans-Cease-To-Exist-Atheists."
Cockroaches . . .
On Humans-Cease-To-Exist Atheism there is no ultimate difference in the end of a human being and a cockroach, in that both have the same ultimate destiny, namely oblivion as in ceasing to exist. This is a very sad position to hold and believe.
House plants . . .
On Humans-Cease-To-Exist Atheism there is no ultimate difference in the end of a human being and a house plant, in that both have the same ultimate destiny, namely oblivion as in ceasing to exist. The same very sad thought.
Question for Humans-Cease-To-Exist-Atheists: How does it make you feel to believe that you have no more ultimate worth and value than a house plant and a cockroach?
Or dead critters smashed in road kills . . . . {they cease to exist too }
Again, that which ceases to exist has no ultimate worth and value. Nothing cannot be valuable. Cockroaches and house plants die and cease to exist. They cease to be valuable. They become trash to be collected and discarded.
Get set for some repetition . . . .
On Cease-To-Exist Atheism you eventually cease to exist and that which has ceased to exist has become a zero. Atheists do have worth and value in the present to their own selves and in their own mind and in their own feelings. And they do have present worth and value to their family and to their friends. However on Cease-To-Exist Atheism atheists have no ultimate worth and value because they ultimately become nothing. Zero. 0.0000
Atheists can make valuable contributions to humanity and they can leave behind that value, for example if an atheist finds a cure for a disease -- but the atheist himself, on his atheism, has no ultimate worth and value because on atheism he ceases to exist and that which has ceased to exist has become a zero 0000000 and a zero is not valuable. He ONCE WAS valuable --- but now that he has, on atheism, become a zero, he is no longer valuable.
Ultimate definition: "being or happening at the end of a process." On Cease-To-Exist Atheism atheists will cease to exist at the end of the process of their lives.
That which no longer exists is not worth anything. Its utterly impossible for nothing to be valuable. And on Cease-To-Exist Atheism, they end up ultimately in oblivion, as in nothing. Zero.
Why do I keep repeating this? Because repetition is the mother of learning. And because , , , ,
This is very sad. Atheism is pure sadness.
No future.
No hope.
No more love. No more music. No more good movies. No more friends. No more satisfying relationships. No more beauty. No more sunsets to enjoy. No more good food to enjoy. No more beautiful images to enjoy. Name one, just one, good thing about ceasing to exist. Name it: {1} _________________
Contrast Christendom's great doctrines of Eternal Life.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
"My sheep listen to my voice, I know them, and they follow me, I give them eternal life and they shall never perish." John 10:27-28

False alternatives—many New Age type atheists believe there is life after death.....
There are much better ways to be critical of Atheism.
“many New Age type atheists believe there is life after death.”
True there was a polling recently that even most American Christians like the pagan idea of reincarnation more than the Christian eternal life in heaven.
Yes, but if what atheists believe is the truth*, it doesn't matter if it is sad. It is what is.
*I don't agree with atheists.
Lack of boredom, lack of Depression
Most of us have reasons for getting up in the morning, goals no matter how trivial to pursuit.
What's the point of living forever in Heaven with nothing to do or nothing to achieve?
For instance what are Constantine's plans for the next two weeks? What about some medieval French surf who's been in heaven since the year 810, what's his motivation for going on?
People are perfectly free to believe anything they want to, till they physically die.
“
There is actually anecdotal evidence (from near death experiences) that people will continue to believe their own culture-bound versions of reality even after they die.
You will see what you believe is possible and real for you.
That is an understandable position for an atheist (or a poorly formed Christian) to take, but it stems from having an impoverished concept of what the Christian afterlife will be. This is made worse by the cartoonish concept of heaven that people are offered. If I thought heaven was going to be just sitting on a cloud playing a harp for eternity, I’d say the heck with it too.
Then they believe they will essentially be immortal. Even as the universe expands, there will be pockets of energy around red dwarves and black holes that will last for trillions of years.
Even though this is not an eternity, trillions of years is pretty damn good for most of these atheists.
He is also said to be Divinely Simple, i.e. He has not parts and no extension. So one picture of God is that He is a point outside of space and time that experiences everything all at once.
What would it be like for a mere mortal to enter Eternity? Would we also experience the same thing as God? Would we experience everything all the time and all at once?
We are told that Eternity is not the same thing as eternal time and endless space. Instead it is outside of space and time. There is much talk about many mansions in Heaven and the ability to reconnect to one's friends and enjoy the torments of those in Hell. But we are also told that we will most likely be spending all our time thanking God and singing His praises. So I guess there won't be that much time to reconnect with friends or hang out in our mansions.
But if we're in Eternity then there really won't be any time at all.
Atheists are the most smartest people. WAY smarter then any silly religious people. Especially Christians. Just ask them. And if you don’t ask, they will tell you anyway.
It’s not sad at all. We done cease to have value. The good things we’ve done will resonate. It’s like the old hiking trail rule: always leave the trail better than you found it. If you do that you matter. Sad is thinking the only way you matter is if you go to heaven.
“from near death experiences”
Near death experiences are only evidence for what “near death” is like. They don’t really tell us anything about actual death.
I guess it depends what “actual death” means.
Many of the “near death” experiences are only called “near death” because the people later survived...
It looks like the “Other” shows a reflection of cultural values back to the viewer.
The notion that humans can see beyond the mirror is debatable at best.
The best chance is to enter with as little cultural baggage as possible, but that carries the risk that we might not like what we see....
“I guess it depends what “actual death” means.

Well, if you survived, you weren’t dead. It’s not that complicated.
I had started making a reply similar to this one when I first read this topic early this morning.
Everything has an after-life. Look at a dead bird laying by the side of the road. He’s still there. You can see him. He’s influencing you. Just think what he means to all those bacteria who have just begun to feast upon him! He’s their whole world and will be for some time to come. Meanwhile, his family has already started to forget about him.
There are many kinds of atheists, and most dedicated theologians will acknowledge that everyone has a time of atheism or at least agnosticism in his or her life.
Does Nob care about what we think in our little random fits of trying-to-understand-reality? Probably not, or he, I mean He, seems to sympathize in that - well, look at how many people David killed or had killed, and yet his only real sin was sending a rival to the front lines. (That’s according to catholic priests who taught me; your teaching may differ.)
You’re wasting an opportunity for ridicule and mockery when you simply dismiss a militant atheist who only wants to fight with you, but I’m not gonna judge you for that. Otherwise, atheists are simply people who believe stupid stuff, and you pray for them or - if you’re like me - you ignore them. Why argue with idiots?
You need to work on your reading comprehension skills.
Do you remember reading these opening lines from my piece?

End quote.
My wife’s nephew is one of these. He went to college and got educated and enlightened! He bought the whole leftist program even though he was raised in a Christian home.
He’s a miserable sort, calls himself the “friendly atheist” yet will constantly place articles on his Facebook page that attacks and mocks people of faith. He says he doesn’t mock or ridicule if people believe, but then mocks them relentlessly. If you call him on it, why whatever are you talking about I have never done that. I finally pointed out to him one day, hey read your own posts as a person of faith instead of an atheist. If you are a friendly atheist I would hate to encounter a hostile one. I finally told him all that hate was going to burn him up inside. He avoids me like the plague at family get-togethers even though I have only said that to him on social media. Bless his heart he is miserable, avoids his family, mocks them, complains relentlessly, so much for being enlightened and a friendly atheist I guess...
