I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.~ 1 Timothy 2:1-2

St. Paul:

I earnestly bore witness for both Jews and Greeks to repentance before God and to faith in our Lord Jesus. But now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem.

What will happen to me there I do not know, except that in one city after another the Holy Spirit has been warning me that imprisonment and hardships await me. Yet I consider life of no importance to me, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to bear witness to the Gospel of God’s grace.

The holy city of Jerusalem had been the center of world maps in the West for centuries...It was the geographic focal point towards which all lands were oriented. An acknowledgment of the *spiritual* (the new, the heavenly) Jerusalem in which all time, all places, and all things ultimately revolve and eventually find their end. As was the case with the apostle Paul's ministry...

Heavenly Father,

We acknowledge that the Holy Land's current chaotic state, and our country’s poor orientation towards it serves as a physical reminder of our own spiritual disorientation and distorted perspective on earth at large — as believers, as people. As a nation. As a world. We are not in sync or centered, until our frameworks are reestablished: first within our souls, and then permeating outwardly and eternally toward the Promised Land ...Please re-center the spiritual map of our souls. And restore the moral compass of our nation. In every area of culture and life.
