You might take instruction at this juncture:
In the cite from Rev. 6, it’s NOT God talking; it’s men calling it “wrath” in those verses, not The Almighty. IOW, “Y’all callin’ THIS ‘wrath’? BWAA-HA-HA-ha-ha-haaa! Y’ain’t none of ya seen NOTHIN’ yet; y’all just hold that thought.”
CLEARLY man is wrong about what GOD’s wrath is.
A few broken Seals, and mankind is already crying out about “wrath,” but God doesn’t call The Seals “Seals of Wrath,” nor does He call the Trumpets “Trumpets of Wrath”; from God’s perspective — the terminology He, not man, uses — it’s ONLY the Bowls of Wrath that pour out what He calls “wrath.”
What’s nuts about this, is that the entire thing is just exactly that crystal clear. I mean — “Bowls of Wrath”; what could possibly be in them?? And SINCE they’re “The Bowls of wrath, isn’t it rather obvious that whatever’s NOT poured out of those Bowls of Wrath ISN’T wrath??
How is this confusing?
Why don’t you ask him to show you? Perhaps he will.
God is never early but never late. Hang on!
I've tried time and again throughout my life and got nothing. Other than a sickness as a child, I've never prayed for anything for myself that I recall.
I used to believe death means non-existence. It's like before our Mother's egg was fertilized - we just didn't exist. However, I have come to think that once becoming a sentient being that we may have developed a connection to a supreme being in some manner.
I don't believe in a heaven or hell as in biblical terms. If anything, our connection or soul if you prefer melds with the creator of this amazing universe. That's why I'm an agnostic and not an atheist.
The Bible does say that "many are called but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14).
And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?”The time is growing very short.And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow door;
for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able."
Luke 13:23-24
You really think the creator of the universe and all it entails wants you to grovel on your knees? I don't believe the creator is that petty. Also, I try my best to do good. If that's not enough for the great vengeful god in the sky, oh well.
I read your FR story. I’m so sorry about your tribulations, but glad you found what you needed. I believe I’m a good person. I regret many things in my youth, but later have shown my worth in life. However, I will not “submit” to Jesus or any entity. Christ accepts me for who I am or doesn’t. If he’s all that, he can see into my heart. I will always love his values and principles.
BTW, 'dead to the life of God is not the same as non-existant, it is forever apart from all that the Love of God offers, a state of torment even if only the realization that you can never enjoy what is the state of Life in Christ's eternal being alive.
I don't doubt that you are a good man. That place of torment will be plentious with good men that chose in their personal pride to not believe / trust in God's provision for their graduation into eternal Life. You can believe with your will, privately, with an amazing result of being born from above in that instant. If past experience is teacher, once born from above you will want to tell someone and strt feeding on His provisions for the members of His family.
Privately, just between you and God, swallow your pride of self worth and accept His Grave for you. Do it before too long and I'll rejoice to see you in the clouds with the rest of us sinners who hve set aside our pride of self worth.
Rev 6 tells you that it is the pagans who declare ‘the wrath has come’. The Greek verb is ‘elethen’, in the aorist indicative, meaning they see that the wrath came earlier without them then realizing it was the wrath. When Jesus opens that first seal, the wrath begins poured out in increasing severity upon the unbelievers ... the believers, the redeemed are no longer on/in the zone of judgment.
I was expecting that. Since joining the Navy and after many efforts and accomplishments to do good, I have great pride in myself and will NOT give it up. I had no self-esteen (pride) prior to that.
If God/Jesus won't forgive me for prior sins and not acknowledge all the good I've done since, then I don't want the "clouds" in the sky. I can rot in purgatory while knowing I did good stuff and my heart is good and my conscience is clear. That's all I want on my dying bed.
Thank you very much for your concern.
ὃ γέγραφα, γέγραφα.
There is nothing wrong with yourpride of helping others! It is if you try to offer those jewels to the Lord to earn eternal life that is at issue.
I am proud of a few things I have done in this life for others. BUT those deeds do not earn me eternal life. They might warrant a spike or two in my rewards crown when I come before the Bema seat of Christ, in Heaven, in that third Heaven space-time zone where the Throne of God is, but they didn't and will not earn what God alone gives for belkief in wht He has done for our salvation.
God makes it plain, albeit a hard thing to acvcept, that our good deeds do not earn His Grace. Our Belief in Whom He sent brings His Grace to our human spirit, to abide there forever more. If we choose to not believe what He has done for us, we will still stand before His Judgment Throne at the end of the millenial reign of Christ, when all who have yet to be resurrected will be resurrected to bodies fit for eternal sensing ... and the books will be opened and weighing of our works will commence. IF the righteousness of Christ is not found in those deeds of the flesh, we cannot exist with God and must be putr apart from God, for an eternal existence separated from the Love of God.
That weighing event can be eshewed by simply saying thank you to the One Who paid the penalty ahead of time for you. It is therefore Grace and only Grace, which glorifies the Giver of eternal Life, not the value of your good deeds.
It is the 'evolutionary' path which God has designed into the human race, to be born from above into His Life or remain unfit for His Presence due to unbelief in His Gift for you. As a good man, truly, this accepting so great a gift to you will eventually be seen, spiritually. So, I think I WILL see you in the clouds, sooner rather than later. Good men recognize The Good Lord of Grace.
How many years back?
BTW, purgatory is Catholic ORG mythos aimed at empowering the ORG not your spirit. Ig purgatory was a real thing then Grace is no more Grace.
You are way beyond my beliefs, but thank you. I still believe if there is such a judgmental God, he will see what’s in our hearts when we die. Hope to see you in the clouds. You sound like a good person or soul if you prefer. My best.
I have high confidence that such is the case.
My go-to evidence is the woman caught in adultery.
Jesus said “let him who is without sin cast the first stone”. Everyone turned away.
The thing to note is that Jesus WAS without sin and COULDA cast that first stone.
He doesn’t want to.
He takes in what others have to say, He processes it, and His end result is more fair than fair while upholding the LAW.
Now THAT’S a God I can love with all my heart, mind, and soul.
beautiful, never thought of that scene in that way. He was the only one present without sin and He wasn’t condemning her.
Very beautiful scene of our Lord, thank you.
This sharing of what the Lord shows to us his co heirs is very enriching.
Thank you both for your feedback
