Jehovah’s Witnesses Leader: COVID-19 Signals the “Last Day of the Last Days” rapture
Patheos ^ | 20 march | He meant mehta

In case you’re wondering how some religions are coping with the outbreak of COVID-19, just look to the Jehovah’s Witnesses to see how absurd reactions can get.

In a recent video featuring Governing Body member Stephen Lett, he absolutely delights in the disease because he sees it as a signal that Armageddon is imminent.

So the events unfolding around us are making clear, [more] than ever, that we’re living in the final part of the Last Days. Undoubtedly, the final part of the final part of the Last Days, shortly before the last day of the Last Days.

I just saw this so I’ll add it to the list:

MHGinTN post #300: God has Promised that His seed abides in the spirit of the born again. And John tells us that where the seed of God abides THAT aspect of the born again members of The Body of Christ CANNOT sin.

Amazing blindness ... you still don't see it even as you post the proof to support what I wrote about your mischaracterizations. LOL, exhibit after exhibit of cultic blindness

I’m a born again Christian, and I have no idea your religious affiliation, but it obviously doesn’t agree with mine.

I am a 4th Generation Seventh-day-Adventist. But, I’m called
SDA CULTIST, WORSHIPER OF THE WHITE QUEEN, SPAWN OF SATAN, LIAR, DECEIVER, WORKER OF INIQUITY, WARLOCK, CASTER OF SPELLS, DEGENERATE, DEVOID OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, MOUSE SQUASHER, DENIAR OF THE TRUE RESTRAINER OF THE ANTICHRIST, and a bunch of other bad stuff.....according to MHGinTN and others. I just wanted you to be aware....(same thing I told CAWW). I’m not trying to hide anything from anyone. Full transparency. Take your best shot if you want to. I can take it, and I have. It just makes me stronger.

Ask them why James (5:16) says to Christians, “Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” John adds (1 Jn 1:9), “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Shouldn’t be necessary if Christians can’t sin.

I have no quarrel with Seventh Day Adventists. I have been told that they put more emphasis on the Holy Scriptures than they used to, on the writings of E.G.W.. Besides, it is my belief that there are Christians in every denomination, even if they are in a denomination that is all mixed up, Scripturally, (not saying yours is), as long as they believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are the three in One, and love the LORD. I know Mormons who love the LORD, S.D.A.s who love the LORD, Methodists, Lutherans, Catholics, and others with whom I disagree about Scripture. If we sincerely love the LORD, believe in His sacrificial atonement, and seek the truth of His Word, the Holy Spirit will teach us. As the Bible says, if you seek Him, He will be found of you.

True, but it doesn’t seem to matter to these folks. They are convinced they are going to heaven no matter what. They are sealed by the Holy Spirit and nothing can break that seal. Rape a bunch of women over 10 years after you are a “born againer” and you’re still going to heaven. It’s a given. (and again, I don’t know specific circumstances. I’m just generalizing. Pearl clutchers need to relax)

Not sure of your point. Believers will come before the Judgment seat of Christ after the Tribulation. As your post said they will reign with Christ for a thousand years. Then there will be the Great White Throne judgment of unbelievers. The GWT judgment will not be in heaven or on earth. The Bible doesn’t specify where the GWT is located, only where it isn’t (both heaven and earth fled away from it). When the unrighteous are disposed of the New Jerusalem comes down to earth from Heaven. With an area of 1,960,000 square miles, that leaves a lot of room for the redeemed who will live there, no doubt in the “many mansions” Jesus spoke about.

Where? Dead, awaiting resurrection. “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation” implies that the tribulation is finished. Never in the Bible does it say that any contingent of saints returns with Jesus. The Bible always says that those who return with Him are angels, and one of their tasks is to gather the elect. When that is done the resurrected faithful and the survivors of the tribulation caught up in the air come before Jesus’s judgment throne, where believers will receive the rewards that Jesus says He will bring back with Him. Perhaps one of the rewards is to appear once before God’s throne before returning to reign on earth with Christ 1,000 years.

Before the Tribulation...We must be perfected at the judgment to be able to take part in the Wedding which takes place during the Tribulation...

There will be no earth at that time...It will have been destroyed...

Honestly, if you don’t want to be in heaven, I’m sure God will accommodate you.

Meanwhile the redeemed saints, the Bride of Christ, IOW, Christian believers, will be at the marriage supper of the Lamb as we are being married to Him. In heaven.

Revelation 19.

Read your Bible, friend. The Bride of Christ is never mentioned in the Bible...ever! There is one reference to the Lamb’s bride in Revelation 9 and it does not refer to the church. It refers to the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven. THAT is the Bride of Christ!

Nope didn't forget...I said 'at that time', the time of the White Throne judgment which is not the judgement of Jesus Christ...The Earth is gone...Those being judged are just 'hanging out' up there somewhere in the universe...There wasn't any place for the judged to stand...They look down and see the sky, below them...

Read your Bible, friend. The Bride of Christ is never mentioned in the Bible...ever!

Yep...Just like the Trinity is never mentioned...

Rev 19:7  Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

The Bride of Christ-
Marriage of the Lamb, his wife-

Close enough for me, I'll take it...

There is one reference to the Lamb’s bride in Revelation 9 and it does not refer to the church. It refers to the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven. THAT is the Bride of Christ!

That's Rev. 21:9...

And as a side note, that Wedding takes place during the Tribulation...That great city whose colors are scarlet and purple gets destroyed...We are told:
Rev 18:23  And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived

The bridegroom (God) and the bride (church) are missing from the Earth during the Tribulation...

Anyway,

There is one reference to the Lamb’s bride in Revelation 9 and it does not refer to the church. It refers to the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven. THAT is the Bride of Christ!

It been popular lately, the new trend, for people to marry inanimate objects...One woman ever married herself...But I just can not imagine Jesus marrying an inanimate object; a city...

Rev 21:24  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
Rev 21:25  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
Rev 21:26  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
Rev 21:27  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

I suspect the reference is of the city AND the inhabitants of the city which we know are the BRIDE...Why???

Rev 3:12  Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

Rev 22:17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Here we have the Holy Spirt and the Bride talking...I don't think that's a city...

Rev 21:2  And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

And John saw the city, named New Jerusalem adorned AS a bride is adorned...The city is not adorned as THE bride...And when you read chapter 21 you will see that adornment...

I guess we’ll have to disagree on a few issues of timing and interpretation, friend. FWIW the church cannot be God’s bride. Scripturally He’s already taken—israel is God’s wife. Always good to have respectful discussions with knowledgeable brothers and sisters!

When we die, we sleep in the grave - we have no thoughts, no consciousness, no existence at all, until our resurrection.

Hey!

That's the way I read it; too!

(Now I'm in trouble!)

These, Phil, are the commandments Jesus said we are to obey.

And THESE are the things the CHURCH told us to obey:

Acts 15

The Council at Jerusalem
1 Certain people came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the believers: "Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved." 2 This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them. So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers, to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question. 3 The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the believers very glad. 4 When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them.

5 Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, "The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses."

6 The apostles and elders met to consider this question. 7 After much discussion, Peter got up and addressed them: "Brothers, you know that some time ago God made a choice among you that the Gentiles might hear from my lips the message of the gospel and believe. 8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us. 9 He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith. 10 Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear? 11 No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are."

12 The whole assembly became silent as they listened to Barnabas and Paul telling about the signs and wonders God had done among the Gentiles through them. 13 When they finished, James spoke up. "Brothers," he said, "listen to me. 14 Simon has described to us how God first intervened to choose a people for his name from the Gentiles. 15 The words of the prophets are in agreement with this, as it is written:

16 "'After this I will return
   and rebuild David's fallen tent.
Its ruins I will rebuild,
   and I will restore it,
17 that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord,
even all the Gentiles who bear my name,
says the Lord, who does these things'
18 things known from long ago.

19 "It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20 Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. 21 For the law of Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath."

The Council's Letter to Gentile Believers
22 Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers. 23 With them they sent the following letter:

The apostles and elders, your brothers,

To the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria and Cilicia:

   Greetings.

24 We have heard that some went out from us without our authorization and disturbed you, troubling your minds by what they said. 25 So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul— 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 Therefore we are sending Judas and Silas to confirm by word of mouth what we are writing. 28 It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements: 29 You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things.

   Farewell.

30 So the men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they gathered the church together and delivered the letter. 31 The people read it and were glad for its encouraging message. 32 Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers. 33 After spending some time there, they were sent off by the believers with the blessing of peace to return to those who had sent them. [34] 35 But Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, where they and many others taught and preached the word of the Lord.

Disagreement Between Paul and Barnabas
36 Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, "Let us go back and visit the believers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing." 37 Barnabas wanted to take John, also called Mark, with them, 38 but Paul did not think it wise to take him, because he had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in the work. 39 They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, 40 but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the believers to the grace of the Lord. 41 He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.
