Our Addictive God Gene
The Reason For My Faith ^ | 1/27/21 | Chuck Ness

Every human has been hot wired with a special faith component to our souls, even agnostics and atheists have faith in what they believe. Another way to explain this would be to say we have all been created with an addiction gene. It's that ever yearning desire to find something that will make us feel like we belong, or comfortable in our own skin if you will.

From the moment we become conscious of our self, we begin searching for that One Thing our soul craves. For each of us it could be a different point in life. Some find it when they are 10, some at 14, and yet others may take years before they find it, even into their 90s or on their deathbed. Sadly, most humans never find it until it's much, much too late. However, each and everyone of us are in search of it, even though we don't realize it.

This search could take us on journeys far from home and away from loved ones, or it could consist of a life long search in the little town we were born and never leave from. As we search, we will go through many trials and tribulations from thinking we found it. Just to realize, that which we search for has yet to be found. So we try to fill that empty cold spot with things like drugs, alcohol, sex, eating, television, work, money, shopping, and sports. We will go from one addiction to another, never feeling as fulfilled or satisfied as we were created to feel.

Now our bodies are made up of trillions and trillions of cells? Each cell has its own complete set of instructions for how we are constructed. This set of instructions is known as our genome and is made up of DNA?. Within our DNA is a unique chemical code that guides our growth, development and health. This DNA is coiled up into structures called chromosomes? Within our chromosomes, sections of DNA are "read" together to form genes? Well, all these microscopic parts, work together so that our system will work. Now the thing that actually glues all these things together so we won't flay apart like cosmic dust is the protein we call laminin.

It just so happens that laminin is the most critical molecule in our bodies, and it's shaped like a cross. Yup, a cross, some would say a sword, while others claim it reminds them of a caduceus. (below) A caduceus is the symbol for medicine, a rod entwined with two serpents wrapped around it. Some have even likened it to the snake Moses made from bronze and then lifted up on a pole for the Israelites to be healed from the bites from the poisonous serpents God sent to punish them. Numbers 21:5-9.

Laminin is a protein molecule that literally holds the cells within our bodies together. The most important property of laminin is its ability to easily bind to each other and to other proteins. This makes laminin a critical means of holding tissues and organs together. Kind of makes you think of two verses in the Scriptures, Hebrews 1:3 tells us that He (speaking of Christ) upholds all things by the word of His power. Then Colossians 1:15-17 tells us that Christ is the very image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation....... and in Him all things are held together. Without Christ we would fall apart and be nothing but cosmic dust. With out Laminin ours bodies could not survive, because we would be separated and end up as cosmic dust. The cross shaped molecules that hold all living things together like glue.

Throughout our human bodies, we have the power of Christ holding us together, with the Holy Spirit moving us to yearn for our Father. The Holy Trinity is at work in us, and through us. Is it any wonder we have a craving to once again walk through the garden during the cool of the day with our Father? From the moment Adam and Eve lost communion with God, because they ate of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, man has been yarning to get back to Him.

Reject Him at your own peril, but I promise you this, Until we admit our guilt, and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will continue finding Worldly ways to satisfy the emptiness in our souls. These addictions will only lead to misery in this World, and an eternal separation from God after we leave this World. There is but one way to fill that void, and that's through the blood shed at the cross by Christ Jesus. Trust in Him, and He will bring you back into an everlasting fellowship with our Father in heaven.

So, this begs the question: Do die hard atheists lack this gene? Did Calvin predict this genetic predisposition to be faithful or be faithless? Will mRNA vaccines interfere with his gene?

More than Just a Parable: The Genetic History of the Samaritans 23 and me ^ | 2008 | 23 Posted on 1/27/2021, 5:36:45 AM by Cronos

...Many people who know this parable or the term ‘Good Samaritan’ are unaware of who the Samaritans really are. In actuality, the Samaritans are a unique people whose history can be traced to Biblical times. They are not considered ethnically Jewish or Arab, despite the fact that Samaritans have lived in close proximity to both groups for thousands of years.

Though they used to be numerous, there are now only about 700 Samaritans left, divided between two towns near Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. They rarely marry non-Samaritans, and their religious practices are distinct from all Jewish sects. Their ability to remain both (seemingly) genetically and culturally isolated in one of the most diverse regions on Earth has piqued the interest of both geneticists and historians, who have spent years trying to understand this unique group of people tucked away in the Levantine desert.

The origins of the Samaritans have always been clouded in uncertainty. The traditional view is that, when the Jews were captured by the Assyrians in 721 BC as part of the infamous Babylonian Captivity, the Assyrians then repopulated Israel with people from the land of Samaria to the east.

Then, when the Jews finally returned from exile 200 years later, they found these Samaritans already living in their ancestral homeland. As can be expected, tensions between the Samaritans and the Jews quickly escalated, and would persist for the next several hundred years.

...researchers argue that during the Babylonian Captivity, not all Jews were rounded up by the Assyrians. Some stayed behind, possibly marrying other Assyrian exiles who themselves had been relocated. This would make sense given that, even though Samaritans are not considered Jews, they share many of the same ancient Hebrew rituals. While these rituals have evolved for hundreds of years among most Jewish sects, they remain unchanged among the isolated Samaritans, even to this day. This also fits well with the historical animosity of Jews toward Samaritans because of their association with non-Jews.

But what do the genetic data reveal about the Samaritans’ origins? Luckily, there have been many genetic studies of the Samaritans, both to uncover their origins and to understand how they have survived so many generations of isolation. One such study by Peidong Shen and colleagues in the Journal Human Mutation has used both mitochondrial DNA and Y-chromosome DNA of modern-day Samaritans to discover their origins and genetic relationship to Near Eastern Jews. Their results are fascinating.

The mitochondrial DNA results, which show maternal history (i.e. your mother’s mother’s mother, etc.), reveal no major difference between the Samaritans, Jews, or Palestinians in the Levant who were also sampled. These three groups have relatively similar maternal genetic histories. However, the story of the Y-chromosome, which shows paternal history (i.e. your father’s father’s father) is quite different. Indeed, not only are the Y-chromosomes of the Jews and Samaritans more similar to each other than either is to the Palestinians’, the Y-chromosomes of the Samaritans show striking similarities to a very specific Y-chromosome most often associated with Jewish men. Although the Samaritan type is slightly different from the Jewish type, it is clear that the two share a common ancestor, probably within the last few thousand years.

As a result, Shen and colleagues argue that the traditional hypothesis, that the Samaritans were transported into the Levant by the Assyrians and have no Jewish heritage, is largely incorrect. Rather, these Samaritan lineages are remnants of those few Jews who did not go into exile when the Assyrians conquered the northern kingdom of Israel in 721 BC. Those who remained in the Levant may have take non-Jewish wives, which would account for the genetic admixture on the female side. But according to the authors the Y-chromosome clearly shows that the Samaritans and the Jews share common ancestry dating to at least 2,500 years ago.

The similarity between the Y chromosomes of Samaritans and Jews illustrates that groups considered quite distinct today can actually have relatively recent genetic connections. Indeed, we are all connected to each other in some way through our shared genes, shared ancestry, and shared history. The research into the origin of the Samaritans is just one example of this connection.

No, no more than one who dies from their addiction to alcohol, they just rejected Christ till death.

Calvinism must destroy John 3:16 to be right. We are all born with the same need for our God, yet, some just reject because their heart is hard.

There is an argument to say, that some people are just broken from birth. How else can you explain two children who were raised in the same family, but one is evil continually, and the other is good.

Yet God gives each of us the same chance, He keeps calling us, but for some, the lure of fame, fortune, and physical joy they get from the World is too much for them to overcomes. Born broken.

To say God made some for destruction is to say He lied when He tells us Hell was not created for man, but for the fallen Angels who joined Lucifer.

However, it does lead one to understand, just because 50 million babies were aborted before birth in the last 50 years, does not mean they all would have been saved if they were allowed to be born and grow old. Sometimes, humans are just broken from the womb.

We know that God knows all, even what might be though it never will happen. David asked once if he should go to battle, and if he would win. God told him not to go or he would die. David listened and lived to become King. God knew the result of a parallel choice David may take.

King Josiah was a more righteous man than even David, but he refused to listen to the Holy Spirit spoken through the Pharaoh of Egypt, he died in war, because he failed to listen to God’s warning no to go to war against the Pharaoh.

So God knows the what ifs as much as what will be. He does not create evil, he may allow calamity, but evil is created by the fall in the Garden by Adam and Eve, and the fall effects humans even to the very nano second of conception.

Thanks. I agree with the study.

One thing, in the Scriptures we know that the Babylonians purposely left some very poor Jews in the land. Babylon always resettled other people from other lands they conquered to really stop any chance of the kingdoms they defeated from rebuilding to get revenge.

However, they always left a remnant, because they needed people who could help the new people understand the gods, and the lands, so they could properly know what grows and what doesn’t, and what the god’s of any area desired for their sacrifices. See, they believed in many gods, not just one, so they wanted to make them all happy.

The jews left behind did breed with other peoples brought in. These are the descendants of the Samaritans of Jesus day.

You can read in Nehemiah, when the Jews returned after the captivity, the Jews who were still in the land were told to disown their wives and children they had through mixed marriages or they could not be accepted by the Priests. Some did, many did not.

As an aside, When Cyrus allowed the Jews to return and rebuild the Temple, he did so, because he wanted to make all gods happy. So in reality, the Jews were not the only ones allowed to return to their native lands. It’s just that God used his fear of all gods to bring the Jews home.

"If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. If none of my earthly pleasures satisfy it, that does not prove that the universe is a fraud. Probably earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it, to suggest the real thing. If that is so, I must take care, on the one hand, never to despise, or to be unthankful for, these earthly blessings, and on the other, never to mistake them for the something else of which they are only a kind of copy, or echo, or mirage. I must keep alive in myself the desire for my true country, which I shall not find till after death; I must never let it get snowed under or turned aside; I must make it the main object of life to press on to that country and to help others to do the same.”

C.S.Lewis was talking about the very Addictive Gene I linguistically coined some 20 years ago. Only to learn years later that scientists isolated the very human protein I and Lewis alluded to be be Laminin.

God knew it, because He created it, so that we would be in search for Him.

I believe it and I think people who turn to drugs, etc., are actually searching for God in their empty hearts.
