Italy: Francis' “Our Father” Will Be Introduced

The Francis Church in Italy will push its bogus version of the Our Father upon the Novus Ordo faithful beginning with the first Sunday of Advent 2020.

It will exchange Christ's invocation "and lead us not into temptation" with the Francis statement "do not abandon us to temptation."

Pro-homosex Chieti Archbishop Bruno Forte told AdnKronos.com (January 27) that the erroneous text is contained in a new edition of the Novus Ordo missal that will be published after Easter.

The version is so bad that even the German bishops refused it. It will further separate the dwindling Novus Ordo group in Italy from other Christians.

However, the grip of the Novus Ordo bishops on their "faithful" has grown so weak that most of them will likely never know about this "change".

There is always the Tridentine Mass. This will probably cause it to grow. Jesus was led into the desert by the Holy Spirit where He was subjected to temptation by the devil.

God doesn’t lead us into temptation... I get that. However, we can catechize and teach people the meaning of the words. Changing the prayer will simply deepen the divide between Christians who will now not recite the same Lord’s Prayer as we have for millennia.

I am not Catholic. I am Southern Baptist. My Great Grandfather was the Methodist Circuit Rider for SE Georgia, My Grandfather was a Seminary trained Southern Baptist and Daddy was his Son.

They all hated Catholicism. I don’t. Although I disagree with many things, I still think they have saved many souls.

I just hope they get their act together before they turn into what many other churches have. That can only be described as Satanic.

As I understand it, many of the Italian bishops actively suppress the traditional Latin Mass. But, yeah, Bergoglio can never and will never stop us from saying “... et ne nos inducas in tentationem.”

Does anyone have the original Aramaic wording? Lacking that, how about the analysis of the Greek from this page.

and it came to pass, that as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said unto Him, Lord teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples.

And He said unto them, When ye pray, say

Our Father which art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as in Heaven, so in Earth. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive everyone that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Luke 11:1-4

Christ was not remotely tempted by the devil. Christ was teaching Christianity basics. Christ identified who would be playing the role of anti-Christ. The devil knows ‘sola scripture’ and the traditions of man... even still the devil had to twist the ‘sola scripture’ in his vain attempt to tempt. Traditions of the masses will not change what the Heavenly Father set in motion...

My recollection of the matter from decades old Catholic religion class is that the meaning is that we ask that we not be tested by temptation. For my nine year old self, asking God to get out of a test made perfect sense.

Just for thought you might consider that its written he was tempted just as any man...he resisted....had He not stood the test in the wilderness everything that followed would have no meaning..there would be no Salvation.

Victory was won in that great Wilderness test...just as man was lost to sin in the Garden test.

But He was not just any man. He read the minds of those that attempted to trip Him up in legalities. He was God with us... the lesson of that attempted temptation was Christianity basics. He did not present Himself like a pompous pious priest.

.....*It will exchange Christ’s invocation “and lead us not into temptation” with the Francis statement “do not abandon us to temptation.”.....

That’s dangerous ground to tread since it’s written....Then Jesus was ‘led by the Spirit’ into the desert to be tempted by the devil. ... while Satan’s goals were his own, the testing of Jesus was ordained by God....He was brought into temptation, but did not seek it. He was led of God into temptation.

It is also written... ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.”

Further .....He does bring us into the presence of many tests and temptations. “A man’s steps are from the Lord” (Proverbs 20:24).

What it teaches us is to pray that the temptation does not take us in. Don’t lead me into temptation.... but deliver me from this evil that is set before me...It’s a humble reliance on God in the face of evil..

God did not “abandon” Jesus in the wilderness of temptation.....Francis is wrong on this change.

Because we all know that St. Francis de Pachamama knows what the wording of the prayer should be better than Jesus Christ.

There are three versions of the Lord’s Prayer in the three synoptic Gospels.

The change follows one of them, but not exactly as I would prefer.
