Well, that was easy for the Bergoglios since they had no skin in the game. My parents cheered and thanked God for Oppenheimer and company... because the end of the war meant that tens of thousands of Americans’ lives were spared.
Do you think it only would have been 10s of thousands of lives to take Mainland Japan?
I know that’s a HORRIFIC number.
But I’ve read Hundreds of thousands of lives.
Thank God we never had to find out.
“Now I am become Death, destroyer of worlds”.
And millions of Japanese. The Japanese were training school children to attack machine gun nests armed only with bamboo sticks and bombs strapped to their bodies. There was no reason to think that it would be just like Okinawa where thousands of civilians committed suicide.
The Bergoglios were too busy sympathizing with Nazis...
Yup. My Grandfather was one of those lives.
I mean, really! The Argies were late to the WWII party, declaring against Germany in March, 1945. There weren’t any Bergoglios training for Operation Olympic. Let ‘em cry.
His parents were Italian immigrants to Argentina. Were they Fascisti? Don’t know but possibly. Their adopted country was friendly to the Axis and only declared war on the Axis in April 45, or be faced with postwar ostracism.
His father immigrated from Italy to Argentina to escape Mussolini....according to wiki at least. I doubt his story.
