A new study published in Science Advances on Thursday has shed light on the life of ancient legged snakes.
The Biblical story of the forbidden fruit which discusses how the snake persuaded Eve to taste it, and howshe and Adam, who also ate from it, were subsequently banned from the Garden of Eden by God is probably one of the most well-known narratives in the history of humankind. As described in Genesis, the snake also received divine punishment. You will crawl on your belly and eat dirt all the days of your life, God tells the serpent, implying that before the event, the animal had legs, similar to many others. Now, a new study published in Science Advances on Thursday has shed light on the life of snakes' legged ancestors. Several fossils of an extinct snake group named "Najash" dating back to 100 million years ago were recently uncovered in Patagonia, Argentina. The group is named after the word nachash that both in biblical and modern Hebrew indicate the snake. As reported by the New York Times, the fossils, which include several skulls, seem to suggest that snakes might have lost their front legs millions of years earlier than their hind legs.
Going to a bar to do some research.
A bunch of little ones, maybe. But they just wouldn’t be right.
The ones that intellectually scare me are able to visualize (conceptualize)... kind of... higher dimensional objects than 4d.
They never had arms though. That is why they dont wear vests
Snakes Used to Have Legs and Arms Until these mutations happened. The ancestors of today’s slithery snakes once sported full-fledged arms and legs, but genetic mutations caused the reptiles to lose all four of their limbs about 150 million years ago, according to two new studies. The findings are welcome news to herpetologists,...
Beware of those who can curl and div at will, too ... those are the ones that ‘Max-well’ to the end.
ha ha ha ha ha ... infinite angles - the right angle the wrong angle ... I am sorry I am not laughing.
Wow! Am I the first to invoke,
“Hey everybody! Clams got legs!”
“Now I must kill him.”
About as many Angles can dance on the head of a pin as can Saxons.

Or legged snakes - the Dem Party is rife with them...and the Repubs have their share too...
ROFL!!
All kidding aside, I am Astounded at how often the Biblical references have been proven correct.
One shouldn’t need things to buttress their faith, but those discoveries do.
Unpucker... We are not making fun of angels... we are making fun of miss-spelling them angles.
Religion and humor are not mutually exclusive.
The talking Serpent was not a literal snake. He, has many titles, being called a Serpent was a title of degradation... Prior to the title of Serpent, he was called the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That man Adam knew who the Serpent was, but the silly woman was easily seduced. Paul tells us these things were written for our admonition as to what would be again.
Quite ironic, that the claimed biggest, oldest Christian, woman, cough, cough, Church, has a Temple dedicated to the Serpent as part of where the head daddy holds pappy audiences.
No part of the Bible is a biology textbook.
It does happen to define two sexes, so there is that... but yes. Agreed.
Snakes are reptiles (like crocadiles, lizards and turtles) so the fimding that, in the far distant past, snakes had legs like other reptiles is not surprising.
As to the supposed tie in with the Bible, “crawl” never automatically implied to me that snakes had legs. Crawl means either moving on hands and knees OR dragging the body close to the ground. The latter does not require legs (or arms). As far as I am concerned snakes still crawl on the ground and they have no legs.
“At one point did they lose the power to talk :)”

Amazingly, most folks don’t realize that all the animals spoke in a language that was understood by Adam and Eve.
Adam and Eve spoke the same language as did the animals.
If that were not the *normal* process in the day to day living, no matter what the snake said to Eve, when she told Adam about the discussion he would have immediately decided to NOT follow what Eve was asking him to do.
The fact that Adam didn’t find it odd tells us that the creature (snake) whom Eve spoke with was a normal occurrence.
GOOD one!
