An exploration of the doctrine of the Church of Latter day Saints by Tim Conway.
May 1, or thereabouts - be there or be square :-)
Are Mormons Christians? Not in my opinion. They worship a Jesus Christ who is a figment of Joseph Smith’s imagination. Their Jesus is no more historical than the distorted Jesus of Islam. I have a hard time believing that a false Jesus will take you to the real God.
They accept another Jesus whos sacrifice is not enough to forgive their sin. They are not Christian in any orthodox sense of the word and u fortunately they are not in like flynn
What few Mormons I ever knew were the kindest, ready to give somebody about anything they had, and good to work for.
Nope.
They don’t believe in the God or Jesus of the Bible.
Use the same words but have different meanings.
That has generally been my experience as well. Usually very conservative in their politics.
Nope, not like Catholics and Prots.
They deny the deity of Christ.
They teach that God was once a man who attained godhood, so even their god is not the eternal God.
They teach that God the father had sex with Mary who was ONE of his many spirit wives, and she gave birth to Jesus, who is the half brother of Lucifer, what the rest of the world knows as Satan.
It's a false god and a false Jesus they teach and accept.
That one cannot save them from anything.
Their creation account reads like a bad sci-fi story.
*Personages*.... right.
Even Satan can appear as an angel of light.
Then you are violating the first commandment.
That first commandment is this: Exodus 20:2-3 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.
If you consider Jesus another separate god, then you are putting another god before God the Father. And you are worshiping another god besides the creator God.
That then, becomes idolatry.
However, if Jesus is indeed God, as Scripture teaches, then there's no problem.
That is bigoted and untrue. They absolutely accept Jesus as only Son of Jesus Christ. https://www.mormonnewsroom.org/article/what-mormons-believe-about-jesus-christ
You people make things up. It is dangerous and very bigoted.
Well said.
We believe in the biblical Jesus Christ who is the Son of Almighty God the Father.
Mormons believe Jesus is a created being, conceived by God the Father having sex with Mary.
The Mormon Jesus is not the biblical Jesus.
Surprisingly, Mormonism believes in at least 4 Gods - Father, Heavenly Mother (who has celestial sex with Heavenly Father), Holy Spirit (who was naughty, so never got a body), Mormon Jesus, and of course, there are also millions or billions of other Gods of other worlds.
Good, misled people, who have been taught a perverse religion that is false.
It is sad.

See post 93.
See my last post.
Obviously you don’t know about your own church beliefs.
Show me where the ‘Trinity’ is defined in the New Testament. (it isn’t)
Actually, that ‘last chapter’ of the last book’ of the bible existed as and for the ‘Book of Revelations’.
Which existed by itself ffor nearly 400 years before it was placed at the end of the Bible.
Clearly, the Revelations warning was for the book of Revelations and not the Bible.
Show me where the Trinity is defined in the New Testament. (it isnt)
tells, this has been answered many times on FR.
The word is never used in Scripture, nor is the word bible used in the Bible.
Yet Scripture clearly teaches there is one God.
It also teaches that the Father, Son, and Spirit are each God.
The doctrine of the Triune God puts these scripture teaching into one.
In contrast to the clear teaching of scripture, mormonic doctrine falsely teaches there are many, many gods.
As such, Mormonism is a henotheistic cult.
I like your approach.
Christ sayed ‘judge not that ye be not judged, for with that same judgement shall ye also be judged.’
A lot of people who take upon themselves the mantle of who is acceptable to the Lord Jesus Christ and who is not .....
.... will likely find themselves judged deficient by Christ himself.
