[Catholic Caucus only] Vatican Preparing Response to ViganĂ² Accusations
NRO ^ | September 10, 2018 | Mairead McArdle

Top advisers to Pope Francis said on Monday that the Vatican is preparing an official response to accusations that the pope helped cover up an American cardinal’s sexual misconduct.

The statement from the “C-9,” the nine cardinals who advise Francis on Church matters, came on the first day of a three-day meeting with the pope, one of several throughout the year.

The Holy See’s planned response will address accusations by Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò — former Vatican ambassador to the United States — that Pope Francis covered up sexual abuse by now-disgraced former cardinal Theodore McCarrick.

Viganò roiled the Church with his bombshell statement last month that he’d warned Francis in 2013 about McCarrick, a former archbishop of Washington, D.C., who had for years been dogged by rumors of sexual abuse of both minors and seminarians. More than two dozen other current and former Vatican officials also covered up for McCarrick, Viganò alleged.

LOL. A friend and I have been commenting lately on how the Vatican under Francis and the Obama White House used the same techniques and had the same goals. And now we see they even use the same shorthand.

All this means is that they're digging in their heels and they almost have their story straight. But what they fail to see, because sin makes you blind, is that they have no credibility left. None. This won't work. It will only make even more Catholics reach for their pitchforks. Which I did today. I sent a letter to the Maryland Attorney General asking him to open an investigation into clerical sex abuse and financial mismanagement accusations in the Archdioceses of Baltimore and Washington.

For reference, here is the membership of the Council of Nine Ringwraiths (at least four of these are already enmeshed in the sexual abuse investigation, that I know of):

---

Council of Cardinal Advisers

The Council consists of 9 Cardinals plus Marcello Semeraro, who is a Bishop rather than a Cardinal, and who serves as Secretary for the group.

The group is coordinated by Cardinal Maradiaga.[3] The group's secretary is Marcello Semeraro, Bishop of Albano. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican Secretary of State, was not among the original eight members, but attended the meetings regularly and in July 2014 was confirmed by the Vatican press office as a ninth member of the Council.[4]

This happened the last time around. Frank Keating resigned from the 'investigation' of abuse because the U.S. bishops would not cooperate. Keating is a man of impeccable character, former FBI and Governor of Oklahoma.

Make that five (Maradiaga, O'Malley, Parolin, Pell, Errázuriz Ossa)--I just read up on Errázuriz Ossa: "During his time as cardinal, Errázuriz refused to meet with those who claimed to have been abused by clergymen. He refused public calls for an investigation of Father Fernando Karadima and the issue of clergy sexual abuse more generally. In 2010, Father Fernando was found by Chilean court and church investigations to have been an abuser and was forced into retirement.[14] In court testimony, Errázuriz asserted that he did not act on allegations he received because he believed them to be untrue. In 2015 documents published in Chile showed that Errázuriz and Cardinal Ricardo Ezzati Andrello tried to prevent Juan Carlos Cruz, one of Chile's best known survivors of clerical abuse, from being nominated to the Vatican's newly established Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors.[15][16] "

Six--didn't know this about Marx: "German media reported that an unidentified priest in the diocese of Trier had allegedly sexually abused minors, and that this priest was not removed by Cardinal Marx when he was bishop of Trier, even though he had been made aware of the case. Cardinal Marx's spokesperson claimed that Marx had acted with the relevant guidelines in place at the time. It was further claimed by the media that the priest continued to serve in Trier until 2015 and his abuse also allegedly continued up until that point. The rules governing these cases were reformed in 2010 and 2013, and the spokesperson claimed that had the new rules been in place at the time, the church would have acted differently.[75]"

The goal of the cabal is to “prove” that bergoglio didn’t cover up mccarrick’s sodomy, and that when it became clear through the NY investigation that he’d bused minors, bergoglio immediately suspended him.

It will elide over the charge that Archbishop Vigano made that bergoglio rehabilitated the creep after Benedict had instructed differently, and made an active sodomite a key counselor.

This will probably work almost completely in Europe, where a lot of the real money is, it will work with a large part of the laity in the US and the Anglosphere where the rest of the money is, and sew confusion in Africa and Asia.

They will blame it all on “clericalism,” sack a few bishops (most likely conservatives, with maybe one or two scapegoats like thrown in the mix to make the punishments appear “bipartisan”), announce a new process, make deals with secular authorities, letting them get a few scalps while getting a large payoff, and conspiring with the authorities and the media to protect the homo elephant in the room, the sodomite agenda.

The Nazgul will get away with what they value most: the loot, and the undermining of Catholic doctrine, especially on sexual morality..

Frankie will not even meet with the head of the USCCB, who requested a meeting with him so that they could launch a coordinated investigation. The big stalling point with all investigations is the Vatican, which will either not let them go ahead or simply won’t release the information it holds.

The problem with the Church isn’t the Church; it’s the Vatican, which is a state and acts exactly like the medieval/banana republic state that it is.
