IMPORTANT REPOST: The true enemies of the Church are bad Catholics

It is a well-known account. Sister Marie Bernarde (Bernadette) Soubirous is in the convent of the Sisters of Charity in Nevers, it is 1870, war is raging throughout northern France as the Prussian-led German armies march towards Paris. The first printed version of the account,* published while she was still living, is the following. A visitor came to Bernadette at that time and made her the following questions:

- Did you receive, in the grotto of Lourdes, or after then, any revelations related to the future and fate of France? Did not the Blessed Virgin deliver any warning for France, any threats?
No
- The Prussians are at our gates; does that not cause you any fear?
- No.
- There is thus nothing to fear?
- I only fear bad Catholics.
- You do not fear anything else?
- No, nothing else.

Words of great wisdom from the Saint.

The true enemies of the Church, those who can cause Catholics great harm and peril of damnation, are those who are within, the "bad Catholics" Saint Bernadette feared so much. And they are more dangerous the more powerful they are, the higher in the Hierarchy they are, and the more empowered they feel, their fury, deception and bold vulgarity unleashed.

Might I ask that imprecatory posts regarding the Bride of Christ use the phrase “Roman Catholic” instead of simply “Catholic”?

Even the Eastern Tradition of Constaniople - as well as the post-Roman church, uses the term ^catholic^ (meaning “universal”) to indicate the church militant.

The Roman Catholic church of Rome is not the SINGLE Bride of Christ.

There are many Catholic rites throughout the world other than the Latin Rite — which you call Roman Catholic. Are you familiar with them?

They all say the same Mass, just in a slightly different way.

Yes, all those, plus others who intentionally mislead others. People like Pelosi, Biden, Cuomo, Kerry, Kaine, Dodd, Durbin, Leahy, Sebelius, Pataki, and pretty much any Kennedy come immediately to mind. I’m sure there are many others who could and should be added to this list.

Those Churches must be in full communion with Rome or they may have theologicaly contradictory teachings.

You can suggest it, but since the Church in question IS UNQUESTIONABLY THE Catholic Church, your suggestions makes no sense. The phrase “Roman Catholic Church” is largely a Protestant invention of recent centuries.

That’s a strange picture. Why is there a box for “Latin” and another, bigger box for “Roman”?

I’ve always wondered if the Latin should have “Tridentine” under it.

Dear ebb tide—

A little story regarding bad Catholics. A beautiful old Church, St. Mary’s in Melrose MN, was burned by an arsonist in 2016. At the time, Bishop Kettler expressed feelings of hurt in union with the community.

Since then, he has been trying to destroy the old church and build a V II monstrosity, this after the parish voted 94-6% vote to rebuild the beautiful church they had.

Some people confronted the bishop about this, and the video will follow. The bishop said that he ‘was God’, which he corrected on being called on it. His overarching inference was that he was going to do what he wanted to bring the NEW church up to V II “Code”.

The “I am God” comes at 3:18.

A little history here. There were two parishes in Melrose at one point: St Pat’s (Irish) and St Boniface (German). The two parishes were combined and the new parish was named St. Mary’s.

On the high altar, the old statues (St Patrick and St Boniface) were placed on either side of the Blessed Virgin.

Someone posted a youtube vid in 2012 where you can see for yourself how truly beautiful this church was. BISHOP KETTLER IS TRYING TO COMPLETE THE WORK OF THE ARSONIST by destroying it.

This marvelous structure was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. Link here, wonderfully done:

Well, of course, only bad Catholics can still be technically within the Church. She could never have imagined what we are dealing with post-Vatican II: Non-Catholics posing as Catholics within the Church. Of course, technically they really aren't *in* the Church at all. But all the more dangerous because they appear to be so.
