A friend recently asked, Where are those with uncompromising power and God-given authority in our pulpits today? His statement reminded me of the desperate need for passionate, spirit-filled preachers focused on pleasing God rather than man. Our cultures false perception of God as a cosmic ball of love, or a doting grandfather desperately needs to be challenged.
Unfortunately, difficult truths are often compromised, watered-down, or avoided altogether in the hope of not offending, securing an audience, or building a mega-ministry. As a result, the church is a mile wide but only an inch deep; judgment is never mentioned, repentance is never sought, sin is often excused, and lives are not radically changed. This leaves people confused and deceived because they believe in a cross-less Christianity that bears no resemblance to Jesus sobering call to repentanceto convince the world of the truth of Christianity, it must first be convinced of sin.

One of them is at my church!
That’s good to know.
For real.
There are plenty if you look around (which we shouldn’t have to).
My Pastor is one of them - Michael Youssef.
There are plenty of Bible preaching churches that still have preachers that call sin, “sin”. You just have to ask for the Lord to lead you where He wants you to serve Him. They usually don’t have a mega structure with high dollar cars in the parking lot, and their signs aren’t politically correct.
There is ALWAYS a remnant.
Just come with me this morning and I will show you a a preacher not shy of speaking the gospel regardless of who is present.
And I am not speaking of liberal/progressive pastors.
Slyly encouraging one's congregation to vote Republican is corrupting of the responsibilities that God has given to those He has called to serve. It is putting faith in an instrument of this fallen realm when that faith should be invested in God and God alone.
The people of Israel had tried to trust in politics over God. They got bondage to Rome as a consequence of that failure. That is what Jesus was blatantly reminding them of when He told them to "render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's". Because they had rendered to Caesar already rather than render to God.
I see the same error among too much of Christian conservatism.
We either serve God for His sake or we use God for our own. One will bring forth blessings. The other, an unavoidable curse.
So where are we going to put OUR faith: in mere men, or in God?
It is time for the younger generations to take GODLY stands in public policy and discourse.
PSALM 1
1
Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2
But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3
They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
4
But not the wicked!
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5
They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6
For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
Clayton Cloer is a fine preacher at Church of the Cross in Orlando. Stays on point, preaches the gospel, every time. Hits the twice a year crowd hard at Easter and Christmas.
Amen!

One of them is not at my church. We have a tattooed plagiarizer.
Check out Pastor Keith Hodges @ libertychurcharab. He is the real deal.
Too busy in self glorification....sad really! It’s about making millions and building their fame and creating mega churches! Even in the latter days God speaks about those who will fail the church. I think Pastor’s are the most accountable... scary! Even their worship has become like a nightclub with all the flashy strobe lights, the fog and sing songs that don’t touch the inner soul etc...their worship to Jesus has become cold stone!
I live Kennesaw, and am a member at North Metro Church. I checked out http://apostles.org/ and it looks GREAT!
