CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH SECOND EDITION
PART ONE THE PROFESSION OF FAITH SECTION TWO THE PROFESSION OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH
CHAPTER THREE I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
ARTICLE 9 "I BELIEVE IN THE HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH"
Paragraph 6. Mary - Mother of Christ, Mother of the Church
963 Since the Virgin Mary's role in the mystery of Christ and the Spirit has been treated, it is fitting now to consider her place in the mystery of the Church. "The Virgin Mary . . . is acknowledged and honored as being truly the Mother of God and of the redeemer. . . . She is 'clearly the mother of the members of Christ' . . . since she has by her charity joined in bringing about the birth of believers in the Church, who are members of its head."502 "Mary, Mother of Christ, Mother of the Church."503
You are free to develop whatever theology on Mary you desire but do not corrupt the actual words in scriptures.
Several times over your Lord=God argument is refuted when looking at the Greek and comparing with the Hebrew.
Says the man who won't.
Nope.
Jesus always WAS God.
Mary merely was the mechanism that gave Him human flesh.
****28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. ****
Yes, yes, that is OUR HOPE which we have received from Jesus the Christ.
Mary, however, does not wait in the grave for the coming of her Son. He has taken her to Himself and she sits at His right hand in heaven.
Sorry; but as much as you'd LIKE to believe this; there is ZERO evidence for it.
There is much to give me reason to believe this, but I will not waste my time trying to argue with one who has hardened their heart to that evidence and that Truth.
Feel free to have the last word on this, hollow as it may be.
“You are free to develop whatever theology on Mary you desire but do not corrupt the actual words in scriptures.”
I didn’t. To say I did is a complete falsehood which you would utterly fail to prove.
“Several times over your Lord=God argument is refuted when looking at the Greek and comparing with the Hebrew.”
It is not refuted in the least.
“Says the man who won’t.”
Because there’s no need.
“Mary merely was the mechanism that gave Him human flesh.”
No. Mary was a person, not a mechanism.
Show off...
:)
It would not be a waste of time if a lurker used the truth you posted to become a Catholic; would it?
1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
Says the man who knows ALL the needs that lurkers may have.
True; but since GOD made human flesh from the dust of the earth; Jesus could also have had His human body made the same way. The Godhead made a decision to enter the world through Mary's body; and we all all glad that He did.
But I will in no way accept ANY man's reasoning as to WHY it happened the way it did.
Isaiah 55:9
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
“Says the man who knows ALL the needs that lurkers may have.”
None have expressed any need thus far, and if they did so they could always PM me. Maybe you’re the one with the problem.
“True; but since GOD made human flesh from the dust of the earth; Jesus could also have had His human body made the same way.”
No. The Messiah was always to be born of a woman not the dust of the earth.
“The Godhead made a decision to enter the world through Mary’s body; and we all all glad that He did.”
Why are you glad if He “could also have had His human body made” from dirt just as easily?
“But I will in no way accept ANY man’s reasoning as to WHY it happened the way it did.”
Scripture says the Messiah was going to be born of a woman. That’s not man’s reasoning. That’s God’s.
What 'problem'?
You make the claim to be a 'catholic', but not a Roman one.
I merely wondered how this could be.
You have refused to explain.
And I have a 'problem'?
You are linking things that need not be.
The Messiah was always to be born of a woman not the dust of the earth.
This is true. But the REASONING behind it is NOT mentioned.
Why are you glad if He could also have had His human body made from dirt just as easily?
The same GOD said the very rocks would cry out if men did not; so what difference does it make as to what makes me glad?
Prove it.
Chapter and verse would be a nice start.
