“I’ve always felt that a true conservative uses the Bible to tell himself what to do, and not what others should do.”

That’s the type of conservative we’re trying to get rid of. Here is what the scripture tells that kind of conservative to do:

Mat_28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

That’s not being a bossy know it all though. It’s called warning mankind that there is only one way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ who died for our sin.

And I like your name. Welcome to FR.

There are certain parts of Mississippi where it still exists.
We are under assault constantly but we love GOD and fight the devil.

Psalm 127:1

127 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

========================================

1 John 5:11-12

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

“Your error speaks all I need to hear about your thought process.”

Hey, I’d rather make little errors like that than to be damned eternally in the really big errors.

21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. 22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. Is this saying I shouldn't have something that might tempt another? It almost sounds like Buddhism, or Hinduism, where a person's value is based only on what they do for others.

I am not a biblical scholar but it seems you may be misreading this. What I get out of it is if what you want to partake of is another's weakness, don't partake in front of him to tempt his weakness. An example would be to not drink in front of an alcoholic. 22 Seems to say to have God in your heart and do not condemn another for his beliefs.

It is not our place to condemn anyone . . . just to deliver the mail.

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18).

Without Christ, a man is condemned already . . . by God the Father Himself. It is only by being in Christ through faith that God sees a sinner through the blood of the Son, and no longer condemns the sinner.

Thanks

I want to go here:

Down To The River To Pray

I sent this video to my mother and it brought her to tears.

Tears for the culture that surrounds us.

Tears, since as the daughter of a Minister living in the midwest, she would accompany her father on missions like this.

People who share a common moral worldview can work together for many good things, and FR is a great example of that. We affirm a belief in God because that relates to being conservative; our natural rights are the basis for our conservative views and they derive directly from our belief in the Creator who endows us with those rights.

But as a Christian, we cannot be shy about what our Founder taught. He has made it clear that personal, individual salvation cannot occur apart from Him:

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

So if you find Christianity insufficiently inclusive, you cannot blame the sheep; you must blame the Shepherd.

But FR is not Christianity. It is an association of people who have a shared set of beliefs that directly impact the governance of the nation. Christianity exemplifies many of those beliefs, but because God’s law is the law everywhere and all the time, many who are not Christian have the same views and public policy objectives, and that’s a good thing.

As I indicated, your thoughts are of no importance to me. Write again if you want but I’ve already wasted too much time on this.

Okay, I’ll keep on keeping on with those with ears to hear, then.

Amen! Would to God that hard-hearted sinners would allow God to melt their stoney hearts of unbelief and come to the Father as a little child, willing to trust and take Him at His Word.

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (John 11:25-26)

I wonder if all the big-tent Romneybots will stop by this thread and decry the call for ‘purity’.

So far, so good. No Mormons have showed up. I guess I can stop being scared now. I might even sleep tonight LOL

Well said.

I don’t think God particularly likes wusses, and we definately have enemies within this administration:

Psalm 144

King James Version (KJV)

144 Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
