“I’ve always felt that a true conservative uses the Bible to tell himself what to do, and not what others should do.”


That’s the type of conservative we’re trying to get rid of. Here is what the scripture tells that kind of conservative to do:

Mat_28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

That’s not being a bossy know it all though. It’s called warning mankind that there is only one way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ who died for our sin.

I think I understand what you mean. I would agree that unless a faith/religion actively campaigns, it will not expand, and might disappear.

I think what I was trying to say is that in order to be successful at telling others what to do, ONE MUST MASTER HIMSELF.

I have a difficult time with someone who demonstrates they have no control trying to teach others how to follow the Bible.

The only guy I know who mastered himself, was this one.

And everyone gets the same test. I think that is the real point of the story in the Bible.
